Rather the objection is the tone of the game coupled with the use of slave cards as a resource.

Personally I thought it was weird for 5T to have resource slave cards when in reality it could have been anything. Does this really bother me as much as others? I'm not sure. I realize the designer was going for a specific theme here so I want to play the game before I judge. But it did stop me from preordering.

Re: Shut Up & Sit Down | Your Favourite Gaming Moment

After wife and I experienced our first miscarriage things seemed to change. Was a tough time for my wife. Fortunately I was getting into gaming and it created a wonderful break from reality.

The game is Rampage. We brought it over to our friends house. We were all drinking and laughing having a wonderful time. Many meeples were dined on, and buildings destroyed. My wife still couldn't figure out the radioactive breath, and every attempt at this she started spitting a bit. Which added to the hilarity. She couldn't stop laughing each time she tried.

Finally one last time. The room fell hush. Her eyes watering from laughter trying to be serious. Trying to hold it in. She took a deep breath and... Huhhhhh... Pfffffbbbbbbttttt. Spittle all over everything and everyone laughing again. My friend's hand fell on the table from laughing and his hand hit a meeple. The meeple flipped up in the air and landed splat in a beer. I couldn't believe what had happened and couldn't stop laughing.

It was this moment that instilled two lessons. 1) Find your escape when things get real. 2) Never let your fascination of a hobby get in the way of people. The meeple in the beer didn't bother me at all. And allowed me to fully enjoy the moment.

Re: Wait, you are removing a feature?

That sucks man! I feel bad for all those involved in projects with the PS3. But we should really try to do something about, like write into Sony and such.

Re: Too many choices! (in open source software) — Thoughtfolder

I wrote about this either in a comment on a friend's blog or on mine, but I came to the same conclusion. Ultimately Open Source community would benefit more from improvements to existing software, than projects that essentially copy existing projects.

If programmers can't monitor themselves on this front than it may not be a bad idea to have an elected body that monitors Open Source projects to help fight duplicate projects.

Re: An Efficient Blogging Setup — Thoughtfolder

Sweet setup bro! I will have to write about your narcissism on my blog ;)

Things loaded up pretty quick for me at work, the only thing that seemed to lag was when I clicked on the Title of a post. That took a little while to load, but now Firefox is caching and things seem fine. If I can give you any advice it's to go check out other blogs and see how they do things. Don't just focus on what they write about, but how they formulate the content.

Framing is everything!
