This makes it unique, intriguing and hard to fathom or pigeon hole even after 10 years. For some reason it won't fit in a box much like society.

It is no longer about the Founders, but it was at one stage. If we all died tomorrow it would make no difference as Ecademy is shaped by its members now not the Founders. It's beyond us and we know it and welcome it.

Traffic rose 53% in 2007 over 2006, source Google Analytics and happy to email it to anyone who wants to check it - thomas.power@ecademy.com.

Ecademy will keep on accelerating and differentiate itself from the machine only worlds of Linkedin, Facebook, Xing et al which in our view lack a heart. They are however good tools.

Social Media is not just about tools, it is about people and the relationships between those people, be they good, bad or indifferent.

Re: 7 Brand Name Social Networks

if every brand builds a social network that means at least another 3,000 networks worldwide doesn't it, how will people cope, how will they be financed, exciting to consider?

Re: Twitter and inadequacy (er, the great friend divide)

Very clever Robert, very clever indeed.

I enjoy following you. Alexa is a useful relative measure.

Google maybe the world's biggest brand, maybe the first steam train to catch Microsoft's $60bn revenue line. That will take until 2020 even with their hyper growth rates. Google should reach $40bn in 2012. Microsoft won't stand still, Ballmer will be highly acquisitive to maintain his No1 position. Gates will come back once Google reaches $50bn revenue est. 2015.

What we want to see is is a proper Coke and Pepsi battle between MS/Yahoo/Facebook/MySpace and Google/Googlezon/Vodafone/Twitter.

Bring it on Jerry step out of the way now.

Re: Online Ubiquity

doesn't all the electricity so close to your head affect your sleep?

Re: Xing CEO quits, replaced by former eBay drone

this is a real surprise Lars' work is far from finished after just 5 years, I've been doing Ecademy for 11 years in 2009 and I know the job is never finished.
