You need to make a DVD ordering iPhone toilet app for your goods.

Re: Six Things Chrome OS Needs To Go To Work

I think you are right that the normal enterprise is not ready for ChromeOS just yet. But I think we are closer than you think.

It's obvious Chrome OS is not going to be for everyone. If you need to connect to a Windows domain - then this will not be your thing. At least not anytime soon. You have to accept that the web is network, not the Windows server, if you want to move to ChromeOS. Which is something I welcome.

While we can all agree that a Gigabit Ethernet connection is faster than wireless, is this a ChromeOS thing or just a CR-48 thing? I would assume if you want to install ChromeOS on a machine that has an Ethernet card you can. I think your looking at a specific hardware spec of the CR-48 and projecting it as an OS issue. Right?

The idea of having other browsers is actually in place, by using the IE tab extension. Our enterprise software runs in the cloud and requires IE to run. But the IE Tab chrome extension runs the software flawlessly. I use it every day.

I'm not sure this is that big a deal. Especially if you are a Google Apps user (which will be the firsts to adopt ChromeOS I think). We share our files etc in Google Apps. We don't need the VPN.

The last point of a customized "home tab" is very easy. This is the web, make a web page. Make the home page of the browser the company intranet. This is a much more robust landing page than any customized desktop could ever be.

So I agree we are not all ready yet. But I think the only real stumbling block in this article is not being ready to break away from the Windows network environment. The other things are not an issue.

Re: http://wallacewilson.net/post/563425000

I'm going to blame that on my iPhone. Because normally I'm a good speler.

Re: http://wallacewilson.net/post/555194984

I have. I mostly use TweetDeck when on the iPad, and there are some things I like about it, but for the most part I find it frustrating. I think the main thing is I am spoiled by Tweetie on the iPhone and just want all that functionality and smoothness back.

I have a lot of complaints, but my biggest beef is that every time I go back to it, it refreshes my feeds and starts me at the most recent again. I want it to just start back up where I left off. Since the iPad won't multi task yet - I'm constantly jumping from email to twitter to ipod to something else. And when I go back to TweetDeck - I want to be where I left off.

Maybe there is a setting I have not found yet to do that.

In the end though because I'm spending more time on my iPad and less on my laptop - and I don't find TweetDeck or twitteriffic very good - I'm wasting less time on Twitter. So maybe that's a good thing.

Re: wallace wilson - Been waiting in line for Santa for over an hour....

You know about too many weird things.

Re: What's for Lunch Leanne?

I have to agree. What is the best way for them to listen?

Mini discussion of it going on on Twitter with Sen McCaskill (@clairecmc). Here are my thoughts on it I posted this morning: http://bit.ly/fPCcU

Re: Is Facebook Testing Popups?

Firefox told me it had blocked a pop up earlier on my facebook tab. Looks like they pushed out a new version last night, 1.0.154.46 that has caused this. I fired up another PC and it was still on 1.0.154.43 and I had no problems with facebook or gDocs. I told it to upgrade to the latest version and it installed .46 and then was locked out of facebook and gDocs again.
