Content producers who are not protected by a big business Legal team are getting the short end of the content creation/copyright stick. Facebook could've been a copyright leader in this regard.

They (and many big business) need to learn a more balanced approach to content ownership. If a lawyer like Laurence Lessig can "get it", why can't FB or Google?

Re: Testing an Amazon tool

This is a neat site.

Re: Recorded video

The test worked out well. Plus being in Canada... all the innovations related to movie rentals may or may not happen this side of the intellectual property boarder.

Blame the apple store for my dislike of region locked media which soured prob. the best item of the keynote.

Re: Putting your media where they want it

Makes 100% sense and also in a strange way saves you and everyone a little time. How?

When I originally started my podcast I tried to host all the files on my server. Video files, audio files, music files everything... As the audience grew, my costs for hosting the site went up as well. The download speed of the site slowed down on the day I'd release new content. At first I thought it was cool, then I realized that it was going to be an expensive endeavor if I wasn't careful.

The result... I started posting my content everywhere and anywhere. I started using Blip.tv, and Tubemogul for the videos, I started to use AmieStreet and Tunecore to sell my music.

I got the content out there just as you have,... to where the people are. And surprisingly... my site isn't bogged down by every new episode. The viewership has doubled and I haven't had to do anything more then make it available.

After asking my audience some survey questions, I noticed that not all of them were connected to the feed, or the blog... no matter because wherever they access media content. I'm a search query away from being found. And in the end,... that's all we want as content creators... to have people appreciate our content.

Re: Baratunde Gets Healthcare, Job at Onion

Congrads on the job. I was reading a blog post and suddenly I'm reading my junk mail folder. I need soem of that verification code stuff on my eyes, infact, that should be the international way in which we communicate in general.

hahaa... bahwahahahaaa.... mySpace verifications on everything*!

*except espresso, that needs no verification

Re: Google Buys Another Slice of My Life

All we need is the church of Google to inform us and expose us. Repent for unless it ranks in a google search, it's not true knowledge. If ranks on Google radar, it must be righteous.

That being said,... they do have the best RSS reader. So I can't totally make fun of them. But yes... google a monster is on the loose!

Re: Why MySpace marketing is still relevant

Alot of the early adopters have left to continue the conversations they've started on myspace in other environments, or on their own website. But for generating that introduction, mySpace is hard to beat. But having a place to take fans that is outside of myspace is the real secret.

I consider mySpace a feeder site to funneling traffic into the projects or web destinations that are less crazy... 5000+ friends on mySpace doesn't have much value unless you can get them past that "1 click" call to action you're looking enact.

Re: Before the big show

Thats' a great picture. talk about a humbling and inspiring spot to be.
