Unfortunate that you're receiving invitations for these broken resolution parties... That being said I think you bring up two great points. I'd also add that in a recent face to face with @schneidermike, Mike mentioned Covey's 7 Habits. As I try to stay true to what's important to me I'm finding that revisiting the book and the topics is helpful!

As for me, I stopped making grandiose resolutions last year and decided more to focus on what I felt should be important to me that year. At the end of the day I think you're right, to resolve in some way is to make a promise to yourself. To break that promise does indeed have implications as they relate to self-confidence and self-esteem.

Happy New Year!

Re: How Plastic Cups Became A Symbol of Possibility

"Do all that shit" works for Gary. You already came up with your answer. Determine your vision quest and figure out what works for you! Don't look to someone else to determine how you will approach your life. Go deep within yourself to figure it out.

Re: http://josephsunga.com/post/608367391

Great suggestions! So far it's looking that way. Hopefully when more features roll out some of our bright legal minds on Konstructr can shed some light on the legal issues brought about by GWave.

Re: KevinNuut.com - StrawJet Transforms Waste Into Building...

Awesome! Google Wave Alpha Preview is so early in its conception that anyone making grand claims that it's the best or the worst thing ever can't really back it up. The only thing we can do is evaluate what's currently there and discuss the strengths and weaknesses. One thing is for sure. Email in the next 24 months will change. Thanks for the comment Chris!

Re: Change is coming. I think Mark Wanczak posted this link on Twitter today - http://www.slate.com/id/223... - which shows some of the issues around Wave. I think that there is always naturally going to be backlash when something radical like this comes onto the scene. Will keep you updated, but being able to select certain messages to pass on seems like an option that will have to be looked at, or tested!

Note: You can send private messages that aren't able to be seen by everyone if this makes a difference to you Rich.

Re: Change is coming.
