As you say, as comfy as a t-shirt but just that little more pulled together.

Re: What I Wore: Going Country

That is such a fun outfit! And you are so right about Duo (sniff!) - so sad about how they have rebranded. Not only are their prices now eye watering, the store itself has changed beyond recognition. It used to be such a fun and friendly place to visit and it's now... well, not! Hope you had a lovely Easter.

Re: Caped Crusader | Gwynnie Bee OOTD

I adore this outfit! The cape! The shoes! Looking wonderful. I would be very tempted to buy the cape but you're right - it's the perfect thing to have from Gwynnie Bee as you're not likely to wear buffalo plaid every day!

Re: What I Wore: Holiday Dash

That sweater is the perfect shape! It looks stylish and comfortable but not sloppy. I'm quite jealous. Nordstrom's (and the Rack) are what I miss most about the US now that I'm in the UK (oh, and all my friends as well, of course!).

As for Christmas prep, still a bit more rushing around to do for a few little things but I actually like that last minute bustle of shopping so looking forward to it this weekend.

Re: #TransparentTuesday: Better Than Yesterday

So glad that you're feeling better! Your fitness will bounce back now that you're on the mend. And love the quote - have already put it on a post-it above my desk. Have a great time in Denver. xo

Re: Me Time with Milano (Plus a Giveaway) [Sponsored]

The bedspread is lovely but I'm really smitten with that mug - love it!

Re: Smug

I'm so glad you're blogging and have never thought you were smug. Stylish? Yes! Fun? Yes! Inspiring? Yes! Smug because you but your hand on your hip and look fabulous in fun clothes? Hell, no! But then I'm the same age, height and size as you are and love to see the real-life, fabulous outfits you pull together in the middle of your busy life. If you were a size 4 and a decade younger, I wouldn't be following along. Thank you for sharing. xo

Re: Friday Favorite: Grown-up Coloring

I too LOVE colouring! Loved it as a kid, doodled as a university student and adult. I used to babysit a lot and loved to sit and colour with the kids and as you've learned, they tell you so much more when you're both relaxed and doing the same thing. I don't babysit anymore but am thrilled to have recently gained a niece and nephew to colour with.

Re: She Showed Up

Ahh... you made me cry. It's so true - you just have to get started. The first (and so far only) 5k I did was because a new friend at school asked me to join her and it was the kick I needed to sign up. I ended up being sick on the day but I showed up and walked it anyway and she (and my darling boyfriend) cheered me on as I did. Now I'm running regularly with my downstairs neighbours who are training for a marathon (I only do their short mid-week runs with them) There is nothing like a good smile and a push to get/keep you going.

Re: Getting Through the Endings

Hi Emmie, So glad to hear that you made it through the day - although of course you did! You're one tough lady as we've all seen and will weather this storm. So many lovely comments on this page who have said it better than I can but I will chime in to agree that you should go read Wild (it's amazing), make some cookies, go for a walk, feel whatever you want to feel and watch all the bad tv you can and plan whatever adventures you want to. That's the beauty of making it your own holiday. Thinking of you and here's to a 2015 full of new beginnings and new traditions. xo

Re: When the Foundation Crumbles

Oh my goodness. A favourite yoga teacher told me once, you can't be tense when you exhale so focus on breathing out. It works! I tend to get really anxious and try to turn to yoga or meditation to try to turn my brain off. The app Headspace is great for small doses of meditation and you don't even have to put your sweats on.
Hang in there! Sounds like you're going all the right things for you. Will keep cheering you on from here. Especially the stripes with polka dots. So envious of those flats.
I am heading back to school in September (second year of a mid-life career change) so I will be wearing similar to what I wore last year - boyfriend jeans, caramel coloured flats, navy and white stripped long sleeve tee, white cardigan, long purple pashmina to ward off the A/C in the classroom and a brown leather large purse/bookbag. Sadly no old school typewriter bags for me!

Re: Out and About: Spirit Animal at the W

You look so happy in these photos!
