Yeah, the Ansible roles are super lightweight. They just download the binaries from releases.hashicorp.com, checksum and then install and setup systemd tasks.

I used Ansible because I wanted to get the Pis provisioned quickly.

That is a bit more of a UX question really. You probably should consider redesigning your layout via grouping or something to avoid this. Programmatically, it will work, but you are right - the experience wouldn't be the same.
