The blade is sharpened to a knife edge on one side, and more of a saw on the other. Useful for cutting twine, hacking weed roots, and even a light pry at when needed. Whoopdy doo.

Honestly, I pity people like you who are arrogant past tolerance and insist on judging people you've never met. Pardon this non-attorney's misunderstanding of how law schools are ranked (I thought I had heard "Top 20" but apparently I'm wrong). But I still stand by my statement that the attorneys I know that work for the feds are both good and smart people.

Re: What’s It Like To Date A Lawyer?

For right now, yes. If my husband's family (who are well off, but not super duper wealthy--and they haven't always been that way) could send him to private school, I think a two-income family like ours will be fine.

Re: What’s It Like To Date A Lawyer?

Last I checked, married people with children don't have to be super wealthy to get by.

Re: What’s It Like To Date A Lawyer?

I'm married to a JAG officer. The health insurance exchanges are not healthcare/insurance plans. They are markets through which you acquire insurance.

Re: Hidden In ObamaCare Site: Applicants Surrender Right to Privacy

1) I've also been working in the healthcare industry for at least 8 years.

2) HHS still has to play by its own rules. If people's rights under HIPAA have been violated, then they have grounds for a lawsuit.

3) It's a lot more nuanced than you make it sound. The most information you can get about anyone re: their health insurance status is that someone MIGHT have gotten insurance through the ACA health exchanges. HHS can probably argue that doesn't count as PHI.

So what it comes down to is whether anyone likes it or not, what they're doing is probably legal.

Re: Hidden In ObamaCare Site: Applicants Surrender Right to Privacy

I don't think the author of this article understands what HIPAA covers. HIPAA covers "protected health information" (PHI). A look at wikipedia will tell you that PHI is "is any information about health status, provision of health care, or payment for health care that can be linked to a specific individual. This is interpreted rather broadly and includes any part of a patient's medical record or payment history." This in no way includes the personal information the author of the article is referring to.

This summary of what HIPAA covers will back up my statement (look under "What Information is Protected").

http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/priv...

Re: Dan Snyder Addresses The Washington Football Team Name Controversy

So wait, if *some* Native Americans are offended by the name, does that make all the other Native Americans that are okay with it wrong?

Re: Rachel Held Evans | 10 Election Year Reality Checks

For what it's worth, cities like Toronto, Victoria (in British Columbia), Vancouver, and Montreal are quite a bit of fun.

Re: Rachel Held Evans | 10 Election Year Reality Checks

[ double post. sorry. ]

Re: Doctors should inspire.

I'm getting my master's in health services administration and the big topic that always seems to come up is administrator/clinician relations. I met a homeless man through a friend of mine last week. I sat down and chatted with him a couple of days ago after giving him a couple of bucks out of my wallet. Today, I found out he had left town to head south. Odds are, I'm never going to get to find out what happened to him. However, I'm grateful for the chance to have met him. He told me some wild stories and reminded me of why I'm pursuing a career in healthcare administration. I'm also grateful for the chance to pray for him.

Re: The Artistic Imagination and the Word: Reflections from Jim LePage (Woodland Hills Church-Graphic Artist)

I've been following Jim's Word project for awhile.
