No, its due to the cheapening of the meaning of citizenship, and lowering of the standard. The age should have never been lowered for a start, even if you serve in the military, that isn't an argument for the vote because we send children to war supervised by adults, they aren't even allowed to chose when they can eat or sleep. Now you have irresponsible people in DC trying to lower the age to 16, people without responsibility or life experience being given power, power without responsibility, cheapens it all. It should have always been a right people earned, at only by being a net tax payer, now, its just a popularity contest on those lucky enough to step on magic soil.

Its trivia knowledge, its hardly even the dmv's written test, nothing near. Lets not make too much of that, I went through it myself, its just a way for the interviewer to gauge if you are a moron or not, a low key iq test.

You can't claim to have any concern about informed voters when you are forever trying to lower the standards to vote, from allowing children to vote, to removing all standards because apparently your "high information voters" can't even get their hands on government ID. Anti science left, the brain isn't done maturing until past 20, the fact is the original age of voting was 21, it was always a mistake to have lowered it. The rote line of "old enough to serve" means nothing because we allow young people to serve under the supervision of adults, you aren't free in the service, you are told when to sleep and when to eat, so it was always a silly argument. Beyond that, rights come with responsibilities, something the left no longer understands.
