I heard in the radio about the Internet, they talked about the motorway for communication. I found it interesting but still nothing I could use.
Today I would miss it terrible.
I have been very over ambitious-thats why I burned out, I think I have learned to take it a little more easy. I wouldnt sit the whole night to solve a problem with HTML,CSS, I would wait till next day, but I would hang on.
I didnt see this until today because your message ( rather the message from Disqus) was in my box for unwanted mails !!!

Re: The phases of my online life

Telex has never existed to me, it must be because I never used it to anything. My start with PC's and internet was very fodslæbende, and I had decided it wasnt anything I could use. But it is-for many purposes. There is so many music video's at Youtube . with my classical favourite's, only to mention one thing. I cant explain why I want to use my time on coding web sites-but when I am hooked at something I am hooked. Its the process that attracts me, and the challenge to make it work, because it doesnt always LOL.
I think you are right about Facebook, its people who knows each other, work together and so on, I have heard that some companies have a Facebook site- a good idea if the employees are all over the world.
I am thinking about getting used to read my newspaper on the net, its cheaper, and some day I only will read can get for free on the net. Many of the big newspapers from Europe and USA are available on the net, its just to click and read.- The Danish newspapers are very provincial, I dont feel well informed by reading them ( and watching our TV).
Before the PC era I heard more music and read more books.

Re: The phases of my online life

My online career is rather short, for many years I told myself that I didnt need to have anything to do with that.
Then I got a PC ( my hubby's old one LOL)-I used it to see the weather forecast.
At a time I started to write in a group with mostly American women, got friends on the net, joined Yahoo 360-later on Multiply. Then I got the idea that I want to make my own web page-so now I learn myself XHTML and CSS- plus many other things. Its still only "for my drawer"- but I really have fun.
I try to learn using Linux - the Suse distro.
I dont know what to say about the social sites- I am a little fed up about it in these days. Face book is very popular, I have heard people say-seriously-if you dont have a Facebook profile, you dont exist. A little far out LOL.. What I like about this "socializing" on the net is the opportunity to know people all over the world, hear about their lives. What did I do in "old days" ? LOL.

Re: About Rebkin

I must say that I am very impressed by Dreamweaver. But at least one year yet with my notepad so I am good enough in coding. Maybe I will by it then. I know some people use WYSIWYG softwares before they know how to code, they want to make sites here and now without knowing anything about html and css ( and all the other things). I dont know when/if I start with photoshop or GIMP-it would be nice to make my own graphics too.

Re: About Rebkin

Well I have signed for Disqus, without knowing what to do about it, but this is one way to use it.
I like to try things out from the net, today I got a free license for Stones Webwriter 4, I think its good but time will show if I can/will use it. I have a free 30-days trial of Dreamweaver CS4, I am not sure if it is worth the money, at least its too early to buy it, I will not buy any software of that sort before I am rather good in coding myself ( its a sort of cheating - or chose the easiest way LOL).KNUS

Re: About Rebkin

Good question Rebekah-who am I?- I will think about it LOL. And how do I/we present ourselves?-when am I me?- well better to stop, have a nice day. I have reduced the time I use at it because, like you, I feel I use too much of my time there-time I want to use for other PC things. I am still working with xhtml, css and so on, after a long break this summer I decided to read it over again, which is a good idea because I missed a lot in the first turn -new stuff, new terminology.
The goal is to create my own homepage-but I dont know what to write about??? - and maybe I do, but it will be very different from what I use to write in the "official social sites".
I think the time has come to use blogging for more "authentic" things- or said in another way, to be myself with my opinions, not so much the more superficial communication on the social sites. No faults about them-only that I feel I have to behave in a certain way to fit in.
