She didn't take anything off. ;o

Re: Private: Def Pen Radio: Hottest Female R&B Artists Voting Poll is Now Open

I understand Mariah has many records sold, and may be considered 2nd overall by an unmentioned source that you mentioned. I am not here to Lincoln-Douglas you...lol, in a matter of fact, I'm not attempting to persuade you. I am only here to inform as i see it. I didn't know mariah had money, although i do see her flaunting money, dresses, shoes, house, and boats quite often. Maybe that's another thing I know about Mariah. Yet, for some reason, keeping lifestyles private generally always had an appeal to me.

Never did I say that Janet sold more records than Mariah, never did i say Janet was #1 above Mariah. Although, i did mention that if you look up to someone, there is obviously a trait that you venerate. And if that is the case, you make way and appreciate for those that come before you, because they/their work has assisted in making you who you are today. I believe Janet recognizes the fact that she has inspired many, including Mariah and acknowledgment has been sent. They send each other flowers quite regularly.

I think you may truly be lost in the understanding that neither artist is in a competition, they are both out there, at least, so Janet has said to solely have people truly stop and listen. "I'm not naive—I know an album or a song can't change the world. I just want my music and my dance to catch the audience's attention, and to hold it long enough for them to listen to the lyrics and what we're saying."

And your consistent idea of competition of wealth and achievement is tiresome, understand that if it weren't for the records and barriers that Janet broke in the music industry for women of color, Mariah would truly of had a more challenging time than she already did in marketing her sound and music. The same is true in history. How many black men had to run for executive office before it was not a significant stigma? How many high position character roles did black men have to play before actually being able to play the role of a president on film? Each time a film was produced someone had to take it to the next level. Janet opened the door for Mariah to walk in! lol If you didn't see it.

Re: Private: Def Pen Radio: Hottest Female R&B Artists Voting Poll is Now Open

lol, thanks for responding, please, breathe...don't want you to bust a windbag. Nobody is attacking anybody here, I'm just stating the obvious...as we see it. Nobody brought up fashion but me, why? Cause I wanted to. End of story. Relevant or not.

Second, Janet does own a private line of boutique lingerie, small it may be, but successful in its own entity it has been substantiated. And I said design clothes and shoes for special causes. Not her own fashion line. My entire post related to the fact that people know more about Janet than they do Mariah, as I understand and see it. Both are fierce women in their own respect, please don't get me wrong.

I worship God. (Thanks) Those that follow and that are fans of Janet, are just that. I don't think people pray to Janet. Do you pray to Mariah? What is MC dedicated to exactly? (honest question) And who goes around creating protoge's? Is that like having a little Minie Me? If you want to base your reason why MC is "better" than Janet because Janet does not have a protoge', I believe that only makes a case stronger in the comprehension that Janet is iconic...as in there is no one else like her and truly cannot be slated against anyone.

In MC's case, I forsee Leona Lewis, Ms. Houston, even a lil bit of Jen Hud within the same category. Dance Janet may, but she also acts, is lyrical, and relevant. I think I've stated what the general public may know of Janet versus Mariah in my previous post.

How does one truly "bring it hard enough?" Unless you, Caliprince, are truly within the same achievement categories as these well experienced women, how can you conceptualize "hard?" Trendsetters usually make the way for others to surpass, in a weak attempt trump Janet's extraordinary work. A work that influenced a great society to follow suit in Black Cats, key earrings, and blow-outs! Iconic. I truly don't know what a Goddess may sound like, (and yes, I've heard MC and could not concur) but I do know MC has vocals. I never doubted or hated on that fact. These two phenomenal women both have great talent. But, as i was reading before, there seems to be some confusion as to who paved the way for who and who has a better societal understanding for exactly what they represent in the forms of entertainment and talent.

I believe there was room to discuss about talent, impact, and relevancy on this discussion board. Can't wait for her 33 #1s to come out! Aren't you!? Do you own a Janet CD?

Re: Private: Def Pen Radio: Hottest Female R&B Artists Voting Poll is Now Open

Award of the millenium!? lmao... is that like "1+ what ever you say so I will always be on top" Childhood play game!? lol... let me put this into perspective for all those who is arguing against who. At one point in time, I clearly remember Mariah saying she adored and looked up to Janet! Obviously, Mariah see's something that she wishes she could be in Janet.

Second, Janet dances. I don't think I've seen Mariah kill it on stage half as many times as Janet has when it comes to entertainment.

Third, Janet is a fashionista. Yes, MC can put on a tight dress and 5 or 7 inch heels and always look the same with her hair blowing in the fan. But Janet truly has an iconic style in fashion.

Fourth, Janet has been fierce and fearless in ALL films she has ever starred in, and if you want to take it back, including the days of Penny!

Fifth, Janet is an icon. Meaning you can ask anyone what they know about Janet and they will probably tell you she is part of the Jackson family, her brother is Michael, she has music that is iconic of each decade since 1982, she loves fashion, she designs clothes and shoes for special causes, she adores her fans, she's humble, non-diva personality, wickedly intelligent, can dance the hell out of any song, any female artists that comes out today will include her in their idol's list and use choreography, lyrics, clothing, and more in their songs, cd design, fashion, music videos and more, she has won endless awards in a massive variety of categories. The whole nation saw their first black bare breast during the superbowl, owned by no other than Ms. Jackson. Yet, she holds the most recognized magazine cover in history! She has the most searched name in the history of the internet....She dedicated an entire album to addressing the injustices, crime, drugs, and illiteracy...all without missing a beat! I truly could go on, but understand this; Janet is not just RnB, pop, dance, hip-hop, soul, rock, alternative, country, or even gospel, she is JANET!

Mariah is RnB and a lil bith of hip hop and gospel. Although I find her gospel is sometimes just for the diva in her and not for the following. Let's see...MC, she likes butterflies and rainbows (reason why all gay boys love her, including myself), she has vocals of a church organ, and her hair blows in every CD cover almost I think (think, key word), she paid for fans to stay in a hotel once, maybe twice (maybe keyword). Um, she has a bunch of #1 singles, but who can actually name the majority of those songs that doesn't follow Mariah like whoa!? Oh yeah, she's married to Nick Cannon... She was once married to the guy who owned Sony, Tommy Mattola... If Mariah likes fashion, outside of tight dresses, she doesn't really show it unfortunately. *Still can't believe what she wore for Micheal's Funeral* She has a lot of videos with hip hop stars.... ummmmmmmmmm she appears quite ...blonde

Ok, I think I've said enough. Thanks! I know I'm gonna get a lot of hatters on this one!...lol
