i'm not all over the place, i've been saying since the beginning that it's not as simple as you're claiming to be. there's historical contexts, religious beliefs and cultural background to take into account. and one thing is common about the whole world, women are looked upon by them in many aspects. we may be in different levels of the giht, but we are all fighting.

problem is not him saying short hair is ugly, it's actually why would anyone care if he likes it long. grow your own hair then. if his allowed to have those hideous hairstyles, women are allowed to not shave, cut their hair, choose to not wear makeup and he shouldn't have any saying in it.

it is absurd, because it only works in a perfect place, where sexism never existed. calling the place i live a shithole country doesn't make it okay either.
yeah, things may be better in some places in the world, but it's insanely naive to think everything's perfect either. that all women there are happy with the same choices you made. that kotaku article you didn't even take time to read shows a situation that is going on in the us, where it is supposed to be all beautiful and perfect if i take into account what you said. they're a first word country, aren't they? and you're gonna say the stuff happening at riot is women's fault? the thing is, no one is going to tell you you're not making the same money as men because you're a woman. there's always an excuse. it's because you don't work hard enough, you haven't made the right choices, women are too emotional and less stable, dramatic and in that case specifically, you're not a enough good fit for the company. they don't even say that here where i live, it's because woman get pregnant, all women were born to be a mother, we're weaker, we're less dedicated, we're biologically inferior and we're not willing to sacrifice the same things men are when the cost of things for us tend to be much higher. you say i see my gender all the time, but all i wish for is to not being reminded of it all the time. it is the guarantee that if i put up the same amount of work as a male peer we're gonna get to the same place. i have the right to be mad at it and to want change.
and it seems like you feel that sitting on your high horse there, where you're satisfied with your life gives you the power to invalidate the fight of those who couldn't get there yet. "it doesn't exist because i haven't gone through it", if you didn't, lucky you. but the first world is nothing but a very small percentage of the whole and while you're here trying to discredit my experience and the knowledge i have of places that are like where i live and worse, which are the vast majority of the world, there are women dying just because they're women,because they don't have the same rights as men.

there are so many wrong things about that first video that i don't know if i wanna discuss them with you.
why do you think the male dominated "choices" tend to earn more? why do you think they're dominated by men? why do you think man can afford being available for more work hours and all around the clock? why do you think jobs that are seen as "feminine" are less valued? because yes, she makes sense, the math can be right but it doesn't answer these questions. that's why i told you before, it's deeper than just numbers. please don't ignore the historical context.
i was an engineering major, my class was 70% male, out of all the women who graduated, guess how many of them are actually working in their field of specialization? none. now you're gonna tell me that after spending all those years studying it, they chose not to work with that.
and i don't care if they're women or not, women can be mysoginistic too.

women make different choices? taking your own line of thought, why would women choose to occupy lower positions and earn less then? you're gonna say we aren't able or we lack ambition? because you're saying men are privileged just because women chose not to be and that makes no sense.
you're saying "my" studies are shitty and have been debunked because that probably makes you feel like you're right. it's like saying rich kids have the same opportunities as any other kid, even the poorest. privilege does exist, you know, and it doesn't hurt to acknowledge it.

i've worked for less payment because i had bills to pay and no, not all the companies pay women less but most of them do.

you wanna talk about privilege? try refusing a guy who's willing to pay everything for you, a "gentleman", and see what society would speak of you. have you ever heard of the friend zone? has anyone ever told you "i've been your friend for years and only treated you well, why the hell don't you wanna fuck me"? because i have. society tells us that we owe things to men because they're good to us, like we don't have a choice in the matter all the time. "to see how far you get", and how far exactly do you intend to get? because those words imply that you are entitled to something because you did it.
i do agree with you that women that take advantage of this social concepts are wrong but who came up with it in the first place? men were supposed to pay for stuff because they were the only ones allowed to work, now the reality is different, why can't this be different too? "but i will be socially punished if i don't pay", why do you care? if you don't agree with it, just don't do it. these women literally aren't paying your bills, you don't need them, you shouldn't care. try finding someone who believes in the same stuff you do then.
i have had guys who brought up the things they paid me - and refused to let me pay for my part - when the things didn't go well between us too. and let me tell you, when you do this out of kindness, not to brag, to show how superior you are or from a sense of obligation, you don't shove it in the other person's face.

it is. it shouldn't be a concept at all. boys shouldn't be educated to act with more chivalry towards women just because they're women. everyone should be treated with respect and kindness equally, regardless of who they are.
the gentlemen concept perpetuates the thought that women are fragile and need special treatment. it perpetuates the thought that women owe something to men just because men are kind to them, it's perpetuates the superiority of their gender and that is not okay.

i was actually talking about san-e and his lyrics specifically. he's the guy thirsting for the cookie in this case. specially in the last lines he is borderline creepy affirming how he is a nice guy and loves women so much. and we all know, he didn't write this because he cares, he wrote this to get attention.

about the actual case i don't really think anyone was decent there. not the women nor the men. forget about gender and everything. it was wrong of them to say the things they said and harass people the way they did? yes, it was. but was it right to beat them up the way they were beaten? not really. i don't believe in violence and i do believe justice goes both ways. if someone's gotta be punished, both sides should get it. the men for the violence and the women for the false accusations, 'cause i'm pretty sure that's a crime too.

it's so nice of you to say the wage gap doesn't exist just because it's "the average earning of men and women working full time, ignoring the context of said work" because you can't ignore the context. it makes no sense. at all. because if less women are working/working less hours/in lower positions than men just because they're women, those are problems too. i'm not repeating what someone told me to say, i've experienced it, i know other people who experienced it too and i have never seen it been debunked by anyone other than men trying to make themselves feel better, but i've seen it proved true and exolained by many academics and researchers too.

and dude, the feminist movement fights for equality. same opportunities, same rewards, same treatment, no privileges. it's not about hating men or trying to be better than them, it's about getting the same respect you guys get. there's nothing idiotic about it.

you answer me why there aren't more women occupying prestigious or positions of power everywhere, 'cause the problem is a lot deeper than just what you tried to illustrate here. "ah but that's not what i'm talking about", but it is. it is been studied and proved over and over again that women that get to be in high places tend to earn less than men in the same position, but it's a lot harder for them to get there. you can't remove all the context here, it's like saying racism doesn't exist because there aren't laws that belittle black people anymore and racist is long gone.
in the example you gave me, you suppose enough women would accept being paid less as the norm to have companies full of women, and we don't and we shouldn't.
