Hmmm...I'm not sure I'd use the word "careful" to describe Chandler. He's known for stepping off a ledge when you aren't looking assuming that you will catch him. He runs at everything with reckless abandon. I'd like to say he got that from me, but my wife married me so clearly she doesn't think things through either.

I'm not sure that makes my analogy flawed, or if it actually makes it stronger. And a lot of people are saying that this new iPad is merely a cosmetic improvement anyway. I played with one today, and I don't agree with that. But after playing with my buddy's new iPad, and being wowed by the cameras and the amazing iMovie app, I went back to my original iPad and did not in any way feel remorse for having the "old" iPad. In fact I'm typing this on it right now and am still loving the experience.

The reason the tech industry is moving so quickly is that all the different manufacturers of all the different components are moving in different cycles. So as Intel releases a new chip set, now all the computer companies need to come out with a new computer that uses it. People who just got their computer 6 months ago feel ripped off, but people who are shopping for a computer right now won't accept anything but the latest and greatest.

That's the world of technology. Unfortunately, most technology users don't pay attention to the inner workings of the tech world and so don't understand any of that. They just want newer/faster/stronger/shinier NOW.
