I think it's being renovated and would be unavailable for much of anything cool anymore. There's a site called Abandoned Richmond, http://abandonedrichmond.tu..., who are always exploring new places like this. They may know of a place you can film.

Happy to oblige. It's everything you've seen on TV. Dudes puking outfront before going in... Huge bouncers in coats, looking like they'd happily toss you on your face, bartenders & dancers in neon tubetops and all sorts of accessories strapped to them (bottle openers, whistles, other bondage-y straps) mingle with you and tell you "Put away that phone, it's time to PARTY!. You feel like you're one tipsy patron away from being spilled or puked on, or punched. And the whole thing is amidst a cloud of hookah smoke in what looks like a rave in King Tut's tomb. I can't recommend enough that everyone check it out.

I wanted to like this, but kinda hate it. All the styles are like an outsiders, generic depiction and not actually as stylized as they should be. Letdown.

Every summer this is on my list. My aunt lives in New Caanan too, so I've really got no excuse, but whenever I visit the summer it's just too far (plus Ive never actually gotten the tickets).

We do have this rad Phillip Johnson building in Richmond which I visit pretty frequently:
