I got to say as a Jets fan I put this one more on Brian Schottenheimer than anyone else. He's the one who abandoned the run game and when Sanchez was struggling seemed to think passing it more would be the solution. He did the same thing when he was trying to make Chad Pennington throw the ball downfield (doesn't that sound hilarious now?). I get rebelling against your conservative dad, but seriously, if it ain't broke don't fix it. He should have been canned years ago and only now his negative effects are rearing its ugly head.

It seems to me that withholding information about Google referrals isn't going to win over any fans in terms of providing inaccurate information on Google Analytics. Wouldn't be surprised if there were some lawsuits as a result (could be seen as fraud, and if it also affects how third party analytic programs, antitrust issues could be involved).

I grew up in Morningside Heights during the crime dip of the 90s but when parents were still treating it as if it were the 80s. My parents were shocked and offended when an Hebrew school classmate said "I guess we're gonna get shot" when we visited JTS, and yet still were horrified when I walked any further northeast of 116th and Broadway.

More importantly, this made my day.

I had no idea posting one thing that I found funny would make the Tumblr intelligentsia so nuts. This is the worst kind of consensus building by echo chamber that critics do. The same thing happens the other way when people enjoy something that gets a good review somewhere else. But at least that encourages (bad) art, rather than dismiss (okay) art.

This kind of thing can be dangerous; as an artist I know the loss of control can be infuriating. The instrument picking quarter sounds particularly egregious; kinda like the baseball league where fans got to vote on what position the players played. I'm glad the band is owning this, but it seems like they're setting themselves up to be exploited and see a side of their fanbase they probably didn't want to see (much like Flaming Lips & the "Write the Night" gimmick at Pitchfork Fest 2009.)

Thanks for the commentary dude. Yeah, I think there is a tribalistic vision of the suburban life in the new Arcade Fire that I didn't relate to, but I'm a city kid (from VW neck of the woods, actually), so I can't relate to that vision anyway. I do like to note the number of times Pitchfork uses the word "we" in its end of the decade poll and argue whether it's the same "us v them" mindset they hate in tea partiers (though I'm rather sure that TA is against the "us v them" mindset, and are still depressed that it exists in 2010).
