So, we respect their policy and cap it within the app, too.

If you have a paid ngrok account, you're allowed more connections. But you'll need to use their downloadable command line tool yourself to initiate the additional connections as VirtualHostX (currently) doesn't recognize paid ngrok accounts.

Cheers!
Tyler

Re: What is a Public / Ngrok URL? - Click On Tyler Help

In newer versions of VirtualHostX, the "Refresh" button has been renamed to "Connect".

I'll get the FAQ updated. That service was great, no complaints. I was happily paying $20/month for it. But last year when GitHub announced their new pricing ($7/month for unlimited private repos) I switched back to them. If I start collaborating with more people on projects, I'd definitely go back to GitLab.

Re: VHX7: Connecting to MySQL From Sequel Pro | Click On Tyler Support

Very strange. I'm happy to offer support via my standard consulting rate. Given a zip file of your Jekyll posts, I can likely get you a WordPress database file you can import within an hour or two worth of work. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to go that route. I did gloss over needing VirtualBox and Vagrant, but it was out of a need to keep the video short - not to make Hobo seem like something it's not.

In any case, Hobo tries to make the initial setup process as simple as possible. If you don't have Vagrant and VirtualBox installed, Hobo will send you directly to their download pages. Installing each one is as simple as downloading the installer, double-clicking it, and following the instructions. There's no technical knowledge required to install those two components.

Also, my example of installing WordPress is just an example. There are thousands of other uses for Vagrant and Hobo beyond WordPress. I can't cover every scenario in my tutorial videos, so I chose WordPress as an initial example since many people are familiar with it.

All that said, Hobo is a technical product. I am offering pre-made Hobo files for customers to get started with, but using them doesn't absolve users from knowing - at a general level - what's going on underneath the hood. You can certainly drive a car without knowing how an engine operates, but it's still a good idea to know when to get an oil change and fill up with fuel.

As to your final question: Just download and install Vagrant and VirtualBox when Hobo directs you to them. I don't think you'll need a video walking you through the steps - they're just standard OS X installers. VirtualHostX is not required either.

Hope that helps!

Re: Hobo is the Best Way to Use Vagrant on Your Mac

You can use any provisioning method you'd like. By default, it allows you to attach a shell script to be executed during provisioning. But, there's an "Additional Vagrant Commands" section where you can add any commands - Cheff, Puppet, etc - to your Vagrantfile.

Re: My OmniFocus Habits – Four Years Later

99% of my tasks have both a project and a context. I don't check OmniFocus enough throughout the day for a daily repeating task to make a difference. My logic is, if I'm committed to doing something every day, I should be self-disciplined enough to remember to do it on my own.

Also, I do still have repeating tasks in OmniFocus outside of "Routines". Stuff like "Change the house air filters" or "Get an oil change". But those tend to have a large window of time between repeating. I also "softly" separate them out of "Routines" because they don't have anything to do with keep my other systems on track - which is what I tend to make "Routines" for.

Re: My OmniFocus Habits – Four Years Later

As promised, here'a a look into my "Routines" project.

http://tyler.io/2014/11/rep...

Re: My OmniFocus Habits – Four Years Later

Great idea.
