Never thought about that phrase in those terms.

I don't use a vanity URL. Instead I use a simpler method: I create a forward from my domain TO my facebook page for example, instead of www.facebook.com/nicolevjallen, I use www.nicolevjallen.com/facebook. Hope this helps!

N

Re: 07 - Public Pages

OMGosh! How much time it saves me! I can probably find most of this stuff on my own, but it would take so much time! The time I save here is more than worth the cost! Thanks for organizing it all so clearly!

Also, I just can't believe how customizable Facebook is. It just blows me away!

Lastly, thank you for introducing marketplace. I really appreciate the chart you created that outlines the business structure and how that relates to the monkeysphere. It's almost like weight has been lifted now because I understand that it is better to concentrate on the 150 in my sphere than to try to focus on the thousands that are outside of it.

Re: 02 - Strategy

Again Simon, your insight is invaluable. I had been looking for a really good explanation for Twitter's usefulness. I know why I use it, but was having a hard time explaining it to others. In addition, even though I use the search function all of the time, I totally missed the "Posts by everyone" feature. OH! and this Lexicon feature! I love it! Your video is clear, concise and unbelievably helpful! I can't wait to see the other videos!

Re: 01 - Getting started

How facebook got started: I just had someone ask me for this information the other day! Shame on me! I read this 3 hours ago, and commented on Facebook, but not here! I completely failed my social marketing duty by not digging, and commenting! Anyways, faux pas aside, I am so proud and honored to be part of the 20 that remained. I feel like I am finally being not just rewarded but honored for my abilities and contributions. Simon, you have done a wonderful job of creating and atmosphere that truly acknowledges people for their natural abilities and talents so that we can all shine in our own unique way. Also, a sincere and humble thanks to each one of The Twenty. I look forward to working with you each day!

Re: Text Links

Text links are great for your using in your ad campaigns. I've decided to swear off Walmart. Love their prices, but hate the feeling I get every time I walk in there. It oozes poverty and it's just a drag to even get near it. You get the feeling that every one of their employees is over-worked and underpaid and while that can be said of many professions (I can think of newspaper reporters) there is no passion behind what the employees do. It's like the only reason they work there is because they feel like there is no other choice in the matter...

Re: Protected: 06 - Campaign Launch

Thanks for your responsiveness. (if you check out some of my other posts, you'll see this lol). I have worked with virtual staff in India so I have a bit of an idea of what it takes to manage them. I really liked your screen capture idea. It really gives me a sense of how unlimited camtasia or camstudio can be. I guess it's time to delve into those a bit more! The four hour work week got me started with the thought about using VAs, but it's nice to work with someone who is doing it in "real life." :)

Re: Protected: 03 - The Digg bar

I like that you give a little bit of the history behind the utility that you are teaching about. Simon is it as important to add comments here as it is in say youtube (i.e. do the comments in Digg help the article ranking as much as it helps the videos in youtube?). Didn't mention it so I wanted to clarify. I think that Digg is staying congruent with their goal to get more diggs and hit that 5ok mark. The toolbar and the social syndication ability keeps them in line with their goals--way to go for them that they are visioning properly and sticking to their goals!. The seo people it seems are sacrificing long term gain for short term inconvenience; seems a bit shortsided to me!

Re: Protected: 02 - Getting Started

Steve, what I gleaned is that Digg likes it better when your friends aren't digging your stories because as we all know, our friends are a little biased! I feel like what Digg is communicating in their structure is that they think it's wonderful that your friends Digg you, but is even cooler if strangers do. Simon also mentioned in the video that quality was better than quantity here especially as it relates to your niche and the section in digg that shows you feeds that your friends submitted (in the Related by Source section). If your friends in Digg are strategically chosen, then it will help you cull out information relevant to your niche. Hopefully my understanding is correct!

Re: Protected: 02 - Getting Started

Hey Simon! great overview! thanks for giving us the run down. I too noticed that Digg is upgrading and changing some things even just since you made this video.
