My intention wasn't to explicitly call out digital cameras but any camera with a traditional set of controls, whether that be a digital sensor or a frame of film. I never thought in my lifetime I would have to defend the camera as an artistic tool.

Re: 20 parallax iOS 7 wallpapers for iPhone ready to download for your viewing pleasure

This resolution is a bit of a myth that has run out of control. There is a writeup here http://fiftyfootshadows.net... about how it most likely happened.

Re: Acorn: Crop Tool

This is what I have done in the mean time which does hold the Aspect Ratio in place but when I crop the image I then have to also adjust the image size to the pixel dimensions I had saved in the preset rather than it automatically downsampling to the chosen preset's pixel dimensions. This extra step is not THAT bad but leaves me having to check my notes often for different, frequently used, image sizes. In this case, cropping images for use as desktop wallpaper images on different devices. Thanks for the quick reply though!

Re: Acorn: Crop Tool

I picked up a copy of Acorn for what looked like the perfect crop tool for me but was disappointed to find otherwise. When making a preset for a set pixel size it of course makes sense to automatically make a box using that pixel height and width I understand that, but as soon as I go to reframe the crop the pixel dimensions are lost. If there could be a simple option to maintain the selected defaults pixel size after resizing the cropping field I would be eternally grateful.

Example: I have a full size jpg from a camera but want to quickly crop it down to a specific pixel size that is not simply poking a hole in the middle of the image but one from edge to edge. So I could pick my preset and then drag across the screen while it holds the correct aspect ratio then scales the image to the default crop size.

Trying to make sense out of this, hopefully I am. Thanks so much for a great app otherwise!

Re: Luxi Light Meter — TwoEight

I remember thinking about this same idea way back when photo apps just started to appear and came to the same conclusion I do now which is that nothing would ever be able to break the limitations of the sensor on the camera. It would most likely be way to limited in low light situations where you often want the aid of a meter. Certainly is novel though and could be a fun toy to have kicking around in your bag.

Re: http://writequit.tumblr.com/post/384022827

That is a good one, happy I could turn you on to it. Such a break-up album. The man...

reminds me of one of the more honest interviews i read of him talking about that shift in his music. ( http://pitchfork.com/featur... ) it seems its more along the lines of what he wanted to do all along. that bonus stuff on the one foot in the grave remix, if you listen to it you recognize a lot of these early sketches of songs later re-made. hm, yeah, all in all i can agree, hes a pretty fascinating musician. i always thought his album Mutations was the moment he sort of took it back to a more simple place musically... hehe, i remember trying to decide which of the various versions of the cover art i should choose when i bought this way back when.

Re: Reissue / Re-release?

I love the idea of limited edition albums. That special feeling you get having one of only a few, but what you have done here is offer more of a 'normal' edition for those who would like a physical copy (like myself) but were too slow, out of town, or too broke at the time (me, me, me) to order one of the great first editions. In my mind re opening the doors for a second run would not make the special first 30 any less special. At least, thats just me. OR you could do a favorites from the collection type release, OR vinyl(!) releases but I am fully aware of the cost up front that would take but I can daydream right? All the best with the decision, these prototypes look great by the way.

Re: O' Bedlam!!! - Picture of Laura, using Emily’s new camera.
Dunno...

Its all in the white balance and the lens you choose to shoot with. I find you can find wonderfully warm images from the digital side of things. still, i totally understand the almost too smooth feel of it which is great for many applications and commercial type work but can sometimes lack that film aesthetic that film junkies long for and all to many young photographers try so hard to emulate in post production. Just inserting my two cents into the comment bucket.

Re: Of Rice and Zen Magazine now open!

Ah, thanks.
