You need to stop qualifiying Scott Ritter as the "former UN weapons inspector" and start qualifying him as Scott Ritter serial sexual predator. Infact if you stop and think for a minute you should ask yourself the following question. how did Ritter go from being one of the chief crtics of the Saddam Hussein(late 90's) for not allowing inspectors in to inspect suspected WMD locations to a defender of Saddam in (2002). could it be that his sickness for young girls put him in a compromising situation in which Saddam and his sons held over his head??

(Jim) while I agree that the posting from Sam's a fraud is over the top.. I also think you'd agree that it's rather ironic that Messina's very first act as Supervisor was to appoint his campaign treasurer as Deputy Supervisor.

that action alone I think clearly demonstates that Messina does not think he should play by the rules he holds others to.

Messina continues his double speak even now as the supervisor elect. why doesn't anybody, especially the media call him out on it.. we should wait till nbext year to hire, but when it came down to vote he said hire NOW!.

Can someone please tell me one positive thing that MR. Messina has discussed during this entire camapign... all he's done say negative things about people and LIE.

1) file 3 lawsuits to DENY voters their right to vote... but the most disturbing part was when it was reported that he hired a private Investiagtor to harass voters. SPotlight 8/12/09 spotlight here's teh section of the article:
Acting Supreme Court Justice Kimberly O’Conner ruled in Albany County Court against attorney James Walsh, who was representing the party member, Jeanette Whitbeck, on Thursday, Aug. 6, after a witness verified her petition signature. She subsequently claimed she was bullied by a private investigator into saying she was not read an oath before signing it

2) during his campaign for th Independence party line which he lost overwhelmingly all his materials were personanal attacks on Jack, and Dan Plummer. he questioned their dedication to the community despite the fact that they both grew up here unlike Sam. keep in mind now Sam has been rejected by the Democratic party and his own party the Independence party

3) Now he's going around town telling some folks he voted to fire Corsi and others that he voted to simply repremand him. how is that possible???
4) the wost lie however is reserved for Messina's claim that he is the ONLY candidate who opposes higher taxes. messina voted to raise taxes each year he's been on the board --3 YEARS staright. in fact he's voted to raise taxes more than Cunningham, who's only been in office 2 years.

August 2009: Push POlls made to voters. they ask voters who they are supporting for Town supervisor, when response was jack Cunningham the call said who you still vote for Cunningham if you new he raised your taxes... -- the irconic thing ab out that call is that Messina has voted the same way Cunningham has on every single town budget. in fact like the TU story noted after the debate they vote the same way 99% of the time.

AS for who supports who. why didn't Messina the "ONLY" independence party candidate carry petitions in 2008 for the ONLY Independence party member in the State Legislature and OUR Assemblyman Tim Gordon??? what kind of team player is that??? Also as campaign manager did you order the Push poll against Cunninghman??? did you hire the Private investigator who harrassed and bully voters during your failed lawsuit to deny a primary??? For a candidate who's only platform is not politics as usual your sure running a campaign that follows the old school, machine poltics play book.
hat Messina's campaign is resorting to saying and spreading lies about cunningham. Yet he has the Cojones to says he's not a typical politician.

Messina continies to show his arrogance, first claiming he can win an appeal and then blaming others for his failed attempt to stop a primary. I doubt very much that a board of elections commisioner has ANY sway with a New York State Supreme Court Justice, infact I find that statment rather disrespectful to Justice Kimberly O’Conner. And rather than hearing about his conspiracy theories I wish he'd explain why sent private investigators to bully people.

Does the Working families party and their leader Karen Scharff have any idea what they are talking about???? the fact is Messina has spent the majority of his life as a Republican. He worked for years in George Pataki administration and only changed party registration when it was clear pataki was done and he was nearly out the door. it's messina who's philosophically challenged not Cunnigham. Cunningham is your typical tree huging, global warmimg, bigger government Democrat.

I'm tired of people allowing messina to have it both ways...and what I mean is that he continues to be unchallenged when he gets quoted as saying "Messina on the other hand states the nomination is just another example of insider politics and placing the will of a few over the will of the public."

That's rather ironic considersing that Republican Party leaders crammed Messina down the committes throat. Yeah that's exactly what i was told by a Republican committperson, in fact that's why they had to delay the vote at least twice was becuase the party bosses couldn't get the votes for Messina.

and as for the Conservatives and the Working families party I think it's safe to say that Messina courted the party bosses pretty hard. I just hope a real conservative steps up and primaries Messina on the conservative line.

So Messina wants overburdened taxpayers to pay even more in taxes so he and his poltical buddies can get their faces onto our i pods and computers. NO thanks. truthfully I was surprised to read that the other politicians on the board rejected this wrong headed idea. it appears the board members 4 get it, that taxpayers have had enough. But clearly Messina doesn't.

I can't believe the audacity of the chair when she said ... “We voted to endorse Sam Messina for supervisor,” Burns said “There was some discussion on that, but we feel he’s a fiscal conservative, which is very important for us.”

Sam Messina fiscal conservative?? lets look at his record (check it for yourself townwebsite/minutes and agendas/town board

1) Not only did Messina vote last year for the whopping 7% property tax increase but and he went on to say "...he was pleased not to focus on the mantra of of NO NEW TAXES becuase if we did that ,we would not be doing the best business we can for you --minutes of Nov 12, 2008

2)Messina proposed nearly doubling the 2.79% property tax increase the (former) supervisor had put forth -- minutes of Nov. 8 2006

like I said before don't take my word for it, you can see it for yourself on the towns website

DOn't be fooled again...The Republicans endorsed becuase they care more about power than anyting else

MR MEssina you say your all about openness well let's see if your willing to DO as you say. Release to the media and the public your answers to both the Conservative and Working families party questionnaires. The reason I am challenging Mr Messina is becuase the parties ask similar questions and as we all know one party is to the "Way Right" and the other the "WAY Left". were your answers consistent or did you tell each group what they wanted to hear????? and if memory serves me correct the Conservatives ask the following question "have you ever been endorsed or will you seek the Working families party line" and that tends to be an automatic disqualifier if you answer YES.
Mr. Messina actions speak louder than words --release your answers

Vann111, I apologize for not being more direct in my comments. when I said the "old" sam messina I was reffering to the fact that for the last few years Mr. messina has been acting and speaking up as if he was a progressive libral. He was an early supporter of Obama, even hosted a house party for Obama - don't take my word for it just "google it", attended the Women for Obama rally at the state capital steps (was on capitol news 9) and had an Obama bumper sticker on his car until recently, NOT very Conservative, huh?? Plus he even backed TAXIN' PAul Tonko last fall (attended and stood behind him when he announced) NOT Jim Burhmaster, who is COnservative... And as for his voting record on the board Messina Voted YES, just like Cunniingham and ALL the Dems on last years whopping 7% tax increase. in fact he and all the Dems on the board have voted YES on every single tax increase since they took control. (check the town board minutes) NOT very Conservative.....
I by no means meant to bash the Conservative Party, in fact I think our Town could use a good conservative to help reign in some spending and taxes. But what's most disturbing about Messina was his bashing of the Bethelehem police department during the Porco trial, once again don't take my word for it, just look up the Letter to the editor he did in the Spotlight udring the trial and you can read his very own words. I just don't like when politicians do the old double speak!

Messina's quote saying he's proud of getting the Conservative parties endorsment I guess is a sign that he's going back to his oldself - you know the days of the "Republican" Sam Messina yeah he worked for Sandy tredwell, George Pataki and Bill Powers Republican machine, and remember to work for those guys you HAD to be a registered Republican. Which should now explain to folks why he's be proud to endorsed by a party that is Anti-abortion, Anti-gay rights, anti- immigrant and Anti President Barack Obama and the economic receovery plan..

I don't know who's being more of a hypocrit, Messina or the conservatives. Messina portrays himself as a progressive yet is accepting the party line of the conservative party, the party that is Anti-woman, anti- gay marraige, anti labor, anti- immigrant, and is pro- gun (NRA) or is the conservative party selling out by endorsing messina, despite the fact he campaigned for Barack Obama (house party and bumper sticker on car) supported Paul Tonko over Jim Burhmaster and did a lot of Bethlehem police bashing during the peter porco trial - letter to the editor in the spotlight.
