Most of California is -- and has for ten of thousands of years been -- a Mediterranean climate. Hot and dry summers with mild wet winters. Those wet winters used to accumulate 20 ft+ snowpacks in the Sierra and provide ample water to the central valley and coast. There were years like 1977 when we got less rain, but made up for it the next year.

Within just a decade or so, we've gone to REALLY hot and dry summers along with semi-mild and DRY winters and little snowpack to speak of. The SF Delta is one of the biggest in the country, and all of the rivers that feed into are entirely within California.

Doesn't the fact that climatologists were saying that this was EXACTLY what would happen 20 years ago make you at least reconsider your expired opinion?

Oh, and one day's work in the hot fields that many of those "Mexican sponges" do would likely kill you off.
