I experience envy ALL THE TIME! I see how successful some of my fellow direct sellers are and while I am very happy for them, I have this little voice in the back of my mind saying, "Why can't that be me?" The way I deal with it is try to find ways that will get me a step closer to success that they have found. It is not easy and I find that I struggle everyday. But I keep going, because I want to be able to look back and at least say that I gave it my best shot.

I will send you private message in regards to your new project. Thanks Lisa for the wonderful post. I will sign up for your newsletters as well.

Tracey

Re: Welcome To Owner Nation

Thanks Liam for the reply. I've heard about the Tupperware guy. Not my style, but understand your point! :) LOL Along with Avon, I now also have Tastefully Simple. Also, have moved to a new location and transportation is an issue for me right now. Trying to figure out ways to promote online as well as offline. Thanks again for the response and looking forward to more great content from Owner Nation! :)

Re: Welcome To Owner Nation

This looks great so far. I've used Visa Print and have always been happy with the products and the service. Will certainly follow this blog. Hoping for some targeted ideas for direct sellers such as myself. Congrats VP on the launch! :)

Re: What’s the difference between a blog and a newsletter?

I've always wanted to know the answer to this very question! Thanks so much for breaking it down. I do have a blog, but unfortunately I don't post as much as I should. It is something I working on. I don't have a newsletter but perhaps that is something I should look into. Thanks for the great post and for answering a questions that has long been unanswered, at least in my opinion! :)

Re: How To Build a Business People Want To Refer

My website www.youravon.com/traceyfisher is built by the brand. I need to find away to implement these points into my
direct selling business. Because my website is formatted by the brand, I
will have to find ways to work around it. Time to put my thinking cap
on! :) Thanks so much for the incite and the tips.

Re: Best Gifts Under $75: Avon Anew—The Ultimate Holiday Gift Set

Thanks so much Tracey! Will share your wonderful blog with all and sundry. Thanks again!

Re: Facebookology: Meet our fan: Michael Clark

It's great to meet you Michael. I would first like to introduce myself. My name is Tracey Fisher and I am an Independent Avon Representative. I have been an Avon Rep part time for about 10 years. As fate would have it, I lost my full time job last spring and thought that this would be the opportune time to run my Avon business full time. I am happy to say that I have gained a few new customers but I would like to expand my business ever further.

In the desire to do so, I have joined various networking sites. Though I have made some great connections, I have not felt that I have made and real great partnerships. That is what I have been looking for and what I feel have been missing on a lot of the networking sites that are on the internet. Moreover, because I am in the direct selling business, I think that it is believed that the brand name I sell for will in a sense, sell itself. Brand recognition is great but not much good if your customer base is does not feel that they need what you are selling.

Ok, the upside. Being an Avon rep does make introductions a bit easier. The products are very well known not just by name but by how well they work. Who here does not know about Skin So Soft, Moisture Therapy or Anew? And because the products are a available by direct selling, they are less expensive than their designer cousins without having to skimp on quality. Also, the brochure allows me to showcase the many different types of products and services that Avon and I am able to provide.

In regards to the services and products that I am able to provide, personal service tops the list. Unlike going to a department store and waiting for a sales clerk to notice you are there, I am able to literally come to your door. And with the addition of the website, I can serve a customer via the virtual brochure, e-mail and by phone. And in addition to serving individuals, I am also able to work with companies who are looking to supply corporate gifts and also do fundraisers. In short, I can be your personal shop clerk, corporate gift supplier and fundraiser.

As I mentioned earlier, individuals are always my main customer base. However, I believe that the other markets that would benefit from my services would be real estate, salons, spas, and any other companies that would be interested in looking for ways to reward their customers. What better way to say thank you than a gift bag or basket filled with a worldwide brand name product?

To sum up, I can provide top notch personal service, high quality products, and a way to help you to say thank you to customers for their loyalty. I can also help with fundraising. Please also note that Avon is very much involved with helping with women's causes. With the Pink Ribbon products for the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade and Avon Empowerment Fund to end violence against women, Avon has proven that it is indeed a company for women.

I am located in Secaucus NJ, and able to serve the tri-state area. I hope for the opportunity to partner with other savvy business women and in turn help each other to grow and expand our respective businesses.

I feel that because of my area of business, direct seller for a well know brand, that there is not a lot of online information in regards to helping me to expand my business. I think that because of the brand name, it is assumed that the name alone would be entre enough. I mean, Avon is a recognizable brand. It's on TV, magazines, on the internet and of course the brochure. But it really stresses one on one sales, which by and large is how the brand made it's name, individual one on one service. However, there is a believe lack of information missing online geared toward direct sellers on how to expand our business by way of trying to garner business from other businesses. In short, cross marketing.

Re: Lab

I feel that because of my area of business, direct seller for a well know brand, that there is not a lot of online information in regards to helping me to expand my business.
