I agree with you, but I think people who find fault with this quote believe that life experience should not play a part in a justice's decision making. They believe that it should be entirely logic-based. I don't agree with that argument, but it is a fundamental difference that people have when it comes to interpreting law.

In my opinion, why have a branch of government interpret the law at all if you don't want people to draw on life experience?
