Many scholars and respected clergy also agree that Paul was speaking more for the coming time of 70 AD.  Also, God Himself said, "It is not good for man to be alone."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I agree that this prayer should not become a distraction and the most important thing you should focus on is your relationship with God.  However, isn't what this young woman described possibly the Holy Spirit birthing a desire for the correct man?  Paul's only stipulation in marriage was that you marry a person of equal yoke.  Here I would say Paul did't go far enough--I personally would want God's guidance on the right person, even though biblically I can chose any godly woman willing to marry me.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We must remember that the Bible is not the end all, be all, it is God's infallible word that LEADS us to Him, which is what He desires above all.  The Word must become personal to us and speak to us, through the direction of the Holy Spirit, in our specific circumstances.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Paul never addressed all areas of marriage, when to marry, and so forth.
