I have never worked for a political candidate in my life till this year. And in southwestern Virginia conservative capital of a conservative state. Now we're getting all the evangelical ministers ranting about how America has turned it's back on God. Could it be that there are some of us who have a slighty different understanding of God (Micah 6:8 comes to mind) and actually think we've turned back to God ?

Re: Convergent Friends, a long definition - Quaker Ranter Blog

With all due respect to Robin and others who might have coined the phrase "convergent Friends", the word converge was in the dictionary long before we put it in to use and means "to tend to meet at a common point, as in convergent lines, or to move toward a common goal or purpose or in the same direction", and is the opposite of divergent which means to head out in different directions. It seems to me that our common history does provide a reference point that reminds us of a shared vision for God's kingdom to come on earth. Can we not find a place of convergence in joining in this work that God is doing from whatever tradtion or background we come admitting that we are "dim witted and slow hearted" and together come to see Christ on the road beside us?
Tony Lowe
