Greene County and its ski areas are being foolish and short sighted. Instead of squabbling over what they think is a static market they should join Belleayre in trying to grow the whole market. Come on! We are 2-3 hours from the greatest concentration of skiers anywhere on earth. Both Hunter and Windham have completed huge expansions in the real estate and hospitality facilities. They both have had record years recently. Rather than hurt each other they have gained skiers from VT, NH etc. So to it will be with a fully built Belleayre. A rising tide floats all boats. There are more than enough skiers to double the market. Lets get this done now!

This is foolish of the Green County ski areas to oppose the build out of Belleayre. They should be working to capture more NYS skiers instead of squabbling as though there were a set number of skiers. Lets grow the pie. Both Hunter and Windham have completed huge expansions in their real estate and hospitality operations without hurting each other. Both had record numbers and they did so by attracting more skiers to the Catskills. So to it will be with the expanded Belleayre. There are plenty of skiers to double the number of visitors. An expanded Belleayre will help Greene County tourism. Lets get on with it.
