Artemis Pelt building is going to be fiendishly difficult though perhaps not so much if I focus quite tightly on the heart of that natural spire...

Re: Doctor Who corset

If The Doctor clicks his fingers she'll sure have a containment problem.

Re: Doctor Who: Steven Moffat's first series ends in triumph, review

Yeh, because those episodes weren't an RTD deus ex machina in a bucket were they?

Re: A long overdue holiday…

Missed this during my little blogging hiatus

Re: Opening Pandorica

Everyone is getting hung up on what was said when she was seven and is missing the vital clue in the quote... IT ISN'T IMPORTANT. The reviewer said that was the key and it is but the important thing was actually in the quote, it isn't what was said it is that Amy remembers anything was ever said in the first place.

If we're looking at a crack erasing things from time and space, something linked/tied to Amy then it makes sense that her ability to recall events may have an increased importance... She certainly remembered the Clerics, suggestive that she can remember things she shouldn't for some duration. Who else? The Doctor we presume but other people in the episode lacked dialogue or opportunity to show they had forgotten/remembered the Clerics that had been erased.

We have the Doctor telling Amy she can see things differently now because she is a time traveller, which helps some way to explain why she knew they existed even after the crack gobbled them up.

Re: phodroid |

You're just trying to tempt me into ordering another set of books! :D

Re: In which I tell of my own laziness…

Not sure how I caught you with such a natural, lovely smile in that first picture... you're slipping!

One of the dangers of me being unsure on the best day to travel, I had expected to have been in Edinburgh on the Sunday, the failure of local transport broke my delicate plan into cumbersome chunks. :(

I was also in great danger of buying lots of geeky merch and never returning home. :D

Disqus is very shiny, there is a new rival out there but I think I'll stick with them for comments.

Re: Free-culture: Music 2.0 and the digital download

For me, the rampant sharing of music will be proven as a win-win when we find that lyrics and the music behind them have reached untold heights of intelligence and ingenuity... I don't just follow the likes of Ben on Twitter because his music is so easy to access and share for free, the ready access hooked my attention sure, but he writes witty songs and tries new things... If I see that an artist like Ben is upto something special or offering some form of paid content, I trust the personality and character on the back of the quality of the free content, I know that he/she/they deserve my support.

I suppose there comes a stage with free content where good people will always find a fierce loyality towards the content provider, especially when that content is of a high quality.

The sort of person who never wants to give back to a community, or culture as a whole... never will and I think (or hope) over the next decade we find that there are scant few of that ilk.

Re: phodroid | happymrlocust

The scary agent of our would-be bunny overlords! The number of times I've wanted to play with a person or group but been unable, frustrating really when you are interacting with people on Twitter and cannot then join them on say, Azeroth.

No MMO can hold me unless it secures the loyalty of people I really know, when they leave I tend to lose something. On many levels the quest structures become stale, it is the social aspect that allows me (and perhaps many others) to overlook that.

One key thing a subscription MMO could provide is a lower rate or free service for communicating when you are forced to drop the subscription for a month or two. If you can keep in touch and be reached even when you aren't paying for that month it may draw you back or remind you about who and what you are missing. It also means that if you haven't had much time to notify people of your absence that you can give a vital heads up. Combining in-game mail with a web available service on that particular games portal is inspired and something that would be valuable to many. Even if they provided a single month of communication after the subscription drops, it would do wonders.
