And shoes are a big deal. This week I'll shoot 4 weddings on a rotation of three high-end conform shoes. Also, pack your own salad and duck out to eat right when the bride+groom do. Don't wait for the chow line — it'll mess up your timing and you'll gain weight.

I first assisted at a wedding in 1980, and this year we'll do over 100 events. The article's spot on. If you like cameras, it's not a bad way to earn a living. I put my kids through college and both of them work for me now so it's a family affair. Worse part about weddings is the predictable tardiness of brides/girls and the same DJ music ... every ... night. Other than that it's a hoot. Now a breeze with Canon 600 lights.
