Those are unfortunately waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive, which is why they're empty :(

St. Mark's in general is basically a no-go. Very few businesses make it there long-term - the ones that have got in when the rents were like $500 a month (which was like 20 years ago). There's massive turnover on that street all the time.

But we've narrowed things down a bit now... there are some promising places we've looked at recently not too far away.

Unfortunately they are long sold out. Usually with reserve series like this, you'd have to place an order either in advance (when you have the best selection) or right after we receive items in stock (when you're basically picking through whatever didn't get reserved already). Occasionally we have items for a while after getting them but this was a very popular series, so it sold quickly.

We're going to post something about this soon - we realize it's taking us longer than we originally hoped. Still no announcement to make, but we'll at least give an update as soon as we have time. It has actually been pretty busy since we've been mail order only :) And we're really missing our shop assistants. Hard to keep up without them!

Lucky packs aren't like regular items; often we can't get them, and sometimes we get them by surprise, but we never get as many as we want. So we don't even know yet exactly what we're getting, but we will tell everybody at the same time as we have new ones for sale.

Well, these videos are always just a quick way to show off our new clothes to people who can't visit our store - we've done 31 of these now, and they do quite well at helping us sell :)

We don't usually carry Lolita brand necklaces in our store because they're slow sellers for whatever reason - maybe it's the prices? We sell them on reserve if someone wants one, but we just don't carry many in the store. Putumayo is kind of an exception to that because their accessories are usually a bit less expensive. But we won't have the Sweet Jewelry Princess necklaces, unfortunately.

Unfortunately that colorway is sold out... we are actually sending our store order sometime today, so up to this point, you can use Baby's site as a guide for availability. Once we finalize our store order sometime today and then confirm it with Baby, we may have items available that they may sell out of before we do. But to this point, we can only take reservations for items that they still show as available on their site.

It means that the waist of the item itself will stretch from between 60 to 80cm, and generally the manufacturers measure externally. (So you have to account for a bit of thickness of the garment itself.) It doesn't mean it's just randomly sized in that range, it means it can stretch or alternately be tightened down.

This post was actually written in 2009 - unfortunately these dresses are long gone. VM does occasionally re-release items so they may be available again someday, but they are not available now.

You only pay once, which is after we confirm the order with Baby. Sometimes that's immediately after ordering (if we've already confirmed our stock); sometimes we need to wait for Baby and it could take up to a couple of weeks. But you only pay that one time, and since it can be immediate, we ask that you make sure you are ready to pay at the time of ordering. Once the item arrives, we just either ship it out to you immediately or we notify you and you can come pick it up.

The process for our other brands varies; Innocent World is the same as Baby, while Victorian maiden you can order direct through the web site and there is no waiting for confirmation. But in all cases you only pay once.

There is no set schedule, but we're always ordering from both because of reserve orders. With Baby, reserve and regular orders are a different process so it gets a little complicated. Recently, we've mostly been ordering reserve items exclusively because we always have some left over for our store anyway, and it's usually enough stock - we don't really have room for more. But we can't put currently available special order items on the same order as reserve orders. This is one reason why we initially were saying we just couldn't take Baby special orders. Now, you just have to email us to see if it's going to be possible.

VM is a little different and we can just include special order items with our reserve orders, so we can basically send them special orders a couple times a month. They are the easiest brand for us to do special orders with and usually the quickest to receive them.

We added that info about both brands because some people were wondering if not including them at all meant we were not ordering from them any time soon. The opposite is true; we are always ordering from them, but with Baby it might still be difficult for us to get something that you want. We might tweak the wording so it's less confusing.

We're trying to find out for sure and will post an update once we know, but right now we think so. It says "worldwide". So it should be that anyone can come. But we're working on getting some better info.

Keep in mind that this is an event in Japan, though, so you have to actually go to Japan.

There are some technical reasons why we had to fade out when the doors opened, but rest assured you are seeing the entire shop :) The spot she is standing in after the video cuts there is the same spot she was holding the door a moment earlier.

Unfortunately those bags are sold out at Baby's offices. We'd get them if we could - they make bags in very small quantities so there often aren't any extras once they're distributed to their stores. The bags we've gotten in the past are literally everything we could get.

As for the store itself, that's actually all of it :) There's nothing we didn't show.

It's possible but probably not likely, as shipping books from Japan in quantity is very expensive; we would probably have to charge about $40 per book (for a 1200 yen book). We were only able to do it this time because we happened to be in Japan shortly after the book's release. So we can't rule out getting more at some point, but we don't have any immediate plans right now. Sorry!

Navy and green are the two most popular colorways for this series in Japan. Black is always the most popular color for us, in any series, so we will always get an item in black if we have that choice. Brown items are never as popular in the US as they seem to be in Japan, which is why we rarely stock them anymore (though we would as a special order, or a reserve - and we like a lot of brown items personally). We won't be stocking this series in brown in our store, but we could reserve it for you.

Some items in the more popular colorways are already sold out for this series. We've ordered some items for our store, but if you want to reserve something, we'd advise doing it soon as your first choice may already be gone. Please let us know if you do decide to reserve.
