It happens everywhere.

The main challenge we have in Africa is lack of adequate organization that
can smack the leaders back into shape, when their personal desires
overrides national policy. I personally don't care who is leading and
for how Long he/she have been on seat, if it is acceptable by the
Nation. What matters to the citizens is how well is the leader doing in
office for the good of the nation and citizens.

Uganda still lacks the basic principles of equality of opportunity, equitable distribution of wealth, and public responsibility for those unable to avail themselves of the minimal provisions for a good life. Healthcare, housing, electricity or Solar power and education is still a far cry for very many Ugandans. The quality of education is deteriorating at a rapid speed. SME's, 'the engine of growth' have been left to fight alone. No tax holidays.

You might say the above is theory, but the billions being lost, misdirected, squandered or disappearing are real and could have been used to make Uganda an "emerging welfare state".

Re: UPE needs urgent attention

Ugandans should wake up and do home schooling. PLE exams are just a farce. Lets go on our knees and pray for the children who cannot access secondary education. Northern Uganda has been totally neglected. You cannot teach pupils with a local language and then have an exam in a foreign language. That is totally unfair. Chinese children learn in chinese and do PLE exams in Chinese. The same should be done here. Teach the village children in English.

Re: Development work on Nakivubo stadium begins as Parkyard market demolition continues

Nakasero market should also go. Lets have a serious budget for radio sensitization. Workshops command a bigger budget yet the impact is not felt. The Kenyan government uses the media for many agriculture programs. Elected secretaries-general in East Africa have historically conflicted with their party chairpersons. Squabbles between former Tanzanian President Julius Nyerere and CCM
secretary general Oscar Kambona; between former Kenyan President Jomo
Kenyatta and KANU secretary General Tom Mboya; between former President
Milton Obote and UPC secretary general John Kakonge; and between former
Democratic Party leader Ben Kiwanuka and party secretary general Grace
Ibingira. All this is enough proof to show how Amama was building his own NRM within the NRM (All this was done behind the Chairperson's back). Lets work for a united, developed and peaceful Uganda. Its only the Almighty who chooses leaders, so lets hold hands this Christmas and pray for the leadership of Uganda.
