In Taiwan, some of the indigenous tribes have a tradition of facial tattoos. A recent brochure had to be recalled when the Mandarin "Facial tattoos for Atayal women are applied as a sign of adulthood." got translated as "Facial tattoos for Atyal women are applied as a sign of adultery."
