The flaw in your thinking is in assuming that guns are "allowed" for personal protection or for hunting.....but those uses are just collateral benefits, and owning and bearing them is a GOD GIVEN RIGHT. The real purpose of guns in America is to face the threat of foreign aggression and/or internal tyranny from our own government....and that means that the citizenry, being the de facto militia, should be armed at least as well as the armed forces....

You are definitely not reading the same statistical data that I am. Studies say that 90% of mass shootings occur in supposed "gun free zones" and Australian murder stats have gone up along with violent crime since the gun confiscation. In both England and Australia, people are now rethinking the law and considering it's repeal in favor of public safety enjoyed in areas where concealed and openly carried firearms are common. Stats don't lie friend, but sometimes people do.....just sayin'.
