If a player can't see the field, in any way, shape or form, something needs to be done from both sides of the problem. The coaching staff needs to communicate with the player more about what they need from him and the player needs to self-reflect about his motives. If a player really wants to play, but lacks the talent, he needs to consider transferring. On the other hand, if the player is o.k. with riding the B...let him, we all need a ***** (insert player's names here) on our team.

Re: An Indecent Proposal for College Lacrosse - LacrosseAllStars.com - Lacrosse Blog, Articles & Content Hub

Travel squads are very common for most college and pro sports.

Re: An Indecent Proposal for College Lacrosse - LacrosseAllStars.com - Lacrosse Blog, Articles & Content Hub

I agree and disagree with your post.

Your comment, "There is no reason why a school can't have a Varsity team of 30 players and then a JV team with an additional 20-30 players," makes me laugh. I have a Varsity and JV team and I have a total of 31 players and that doesn't included the injured. I have five swing players (play JV and V) and three kids out with injuries.

Your article assumes that all programs have an influx of players that are standing around on the sideline. I wish, so badly, that I could pull my first line midfield out for a breather; but if I did I would need to suit up my back up goalie with a short stick and elbow pads.

When you talk about true priorities you need to think about the players that are on the practice squad and the reason why they are there. When somebody signs a letter of intent or walks on, they know what they are getting into. They know that they are going to be on the practice squad for four years unless they take it upon themselves to step up. A lot of players are o.k. with this and don't want the pressure that comes with playing on the field. There are a lot of athletes that would rather go through and never mess up, than get on the field and make a mistake. These types of players and people are necessary for life and sports to work. No one wants to work in a cubicle, but how many people are afraid of the failure involved with following their heart? Answer: A lot.

Re: Guest Login - Lacrosse Blog, Articles & Content Hub

One thing that I thought was really awesome about the championship this weekend was Quint giving MCLA props! He mentioned the skilled play of Michigan, BYU and Florida. It's pretty sweet that the one good lacrosse anchor gave the MCLA props!! How can you ever compare (on any level, planet, galaxy or universe) Chris Anderson antics to any of Kobe Bryant's antics? Are you kidding me? This has to be a joke. The reason Kobe will never be MJ is because MJ invented all the moves that he did. He was the first guy to realize he could jump from the free throw line and was the first player that showed basketball fans the possibilities of the game. Every player in the NBA wants to play like Jordanl; take Dwight Howard, he has to wear a superman cape to stand out from the competition. I never saw Jordan wear a super hero cape and that is because he didn't have a reason to. Jordan is Jordan and when he entered the NBA he changed the game forever. Kobe, LeBron, Dwight and every other great player in the NBA know this. It is their job to take the NBA to the next level and that is what they are trying to do. Kobe won three championships when he was a young star, not a mature leader. His game has continually increased since he entered the league. After the Lakers third consecutive title in 2002 Kobe had a large mental breakdown/makeover. He started to realize that he couldn't win if he played a strictly offensive game. He started to work harder and improve his WHOLE game. He realized that he wasn't Jordan, not even close and he had to try way harder every single day if he ever wanted to be compared to Jordan. Land Before Time's "Smug levels are off the charts" comment about Kobe make me sick. I think Land needs to move past the Denver incident, THE ONE WHERE KOBE WAS PROVEN INNOCENT BECAUSE SOME CRAZY GIRL REALIZED SHE MIGHT BE ABLE TO MAKE MONEY OFF KOBE AND THE COURTS REALIZED IT, and start paying attention to what he actually does to improve his life, his families life and the life of Lakers and NBA fans everywhere. Kobe has single handedly changed the game of basketball. You can't tell me that LeBron would be the player he is if he didn't have Kobe's competition. When I think of "smug" I think of the ingenious episode of South Park and Kyle's Dad's Prius. Kobe drives a Ferrari...I'm pretty sure he doesn't need to smell his own farts to realize that he needs to change his diet. What does that mean? Kobe knows that his game will never ever be perfect. He knows that he must practice until the last day of his career. Please read this article and tell me that realize that your appointment of Kobe being on the Knucklehead was a very, very poor decision
: http://sports.espn.go.com/e...

Re: Guest Login - Lacrosse Blog, Articles & Content Hub

Did I mention that I love the Ducks?

Re: Guest Login - Lacrosse Blog, Articles & Content Hub

These helmets are awful. Maybe cut out some of the garbage...get some sounds to play too! I miss you guys. Keep it up though, I like your pro activity.
