Sorry to say, but it is the job of the household Backup Obsesdive to not simply convince everyone in the family to have a belt-and-suspenders backup strategy, but to actually make it happen. Even if that means installing things while they're not looking. This is how I was able to have a happy answer when my daughter face timed from Italy to say her Mac had died.

If the first-line recovery stuff fails, I recommend Data Rescue. It's 99 bucks but, if you need it, it's worth it.

Legally speaking framing is still in a murky area of the law though there have been court cases in which framing has been seen as violation of copyright law. Many cases that were taken to court ended up settling out-of-court with the one doing the framing agreeing to cease framing and to just use a regular link to the other site.

The East Liverpool Historical Society pays fees to keep their site online. A person framing the Society site is effectively presenting the entire East Liverpool Historical Society web site as his own site and doing it at no cost to himself, i.e. stealing the site.

The East Liverpool Historical Society reserves the right to charge such an individual a fee for the use of the Society’s material.

"Failed mayoral candidate" seems harsh. Sure, he didn't post high in the totals, but it isn't like he cratered spectacularly. And, really, unlike many candidates, he put the most effort into actually writing out his plans and ideas for the city.

Designations like that seem to me to be more for people who deserve the tweak. Like "Disgraced Former Mayor Sheila Dixon." It's true AND it serves as a signal that there's a backstory.

Nice story, Chris. Also -- and maybe this has been done and I just missed it -- there's definitely an opportunity for a story about why there's an X through Mayor McKeldin's face and what's up with all the white markup on photos. To a generation that's only known photoshop, photo-editing for newspaper publication is probably a mystery.

(Also, doesn't the white stuff wash off? Why post photos with the crop marks and other edit marks? Or is it permanent?)

I went here as a kid. Back in 2012 I took some pics showing the park and its relation to the strip center that had taken over much of the space. This pano gives a good idea.
