I manage it by taking a stress relief supplement called Chil from Good Elements which as adaptagens including Rhodiolla as well as B Vitamins. I also find balance by trying to exercise (jog) but also practicing yoga a few times a week. When things are especially tough I take 10 minutes every night to meditate. Not exactly a Buddah but it helps. The combination works to regulate my stress response.

Re: {How to} age well

Interesting article. I believe nutrition/diet, exercise and supplementation are the keys to overall health which by definition should increase longevity. There are no magic bullets (or pills) but a total lifestyle approach is critical. I am a huge believer in Good Elements supplements (www.goodelements.com). I first read about them in the LA times and now am starting to see them in different publications including Organic Spa magazine. They have a natural supplement line that fits with all of the themes of this story. They offer a product called Renewal which is a daily antioxidant (equiv of 5 serviings of fruit and veggies). They have a stress and relaxation formula whose main ingredient is the adaptogen Rhodiola rosea. The immune support supplement is full of vitamin C. And they have a natural sleep product called Dream Supply. Interesting how closely aligned your approaches are. Thanks for the good work, I love your newsletter.

Re: Natural sleep aids

I struggle with sleep aides and have had mixed results with these and other products. I certainly prefer natural sleep remedies to its pharma brothers like Ambien which are much too strong. I also have had some adverse reactions to valerian in that it can actually have a stimulating impact for me (though my wife is fine with it). My favored product is Good Elements Dream Supply (www.goodelements.com). It is a blend of passion flower, hops strobile, and skull cap extracts, vitamin B8 and magnesium. It works great to calm the mental chatter in your head and promotes relaxation with no next day side effects.
