I recently visited Pun Pun (punpunthailand.org) and saw their amazing, beautiful adobe homes. Minimalist. Sustainable. DIY. It's definitely on my radar. I'm interested in knowing the reasons for your cabin preference...

Re: http://allthetimeeverything.tumblr.com/post/6372379639

Mandrew, you are awesome. I LOVE conversing (notice i didn't say kind of love when describing something awesome)...way more than writing. I should thank you for inspiring me to write! Doesn't happen often.

"That's interesting" is a solid phrase to use in conversation and I couldn't reprimand you for using it...especially if you need to interject and transition to genuine feedback as to why you find something interesting. However, this use is irrelevant to the situation that I think you're describing. Correct me if I'm wrong. Your partner in conversation has said something that fails to inspire a genuine AND polite response. And for whatever reason (awkward silence, unconscious social cues, etc.) you feel the need to respond. What's needed here is a go-to "give my brain a few hundred milliseconds to come up with something appropriate" phrase that won't obligate you to making statements you don't believe. "That's interesting" doesn't fit the bill. Give this a shot: "Hmmm"
It doesn't misrepresent what you're thinking and it buys you some time (add more m's if needed) to think about your next move. Which still might be silence. Hell, you might even fire back a social cue to respond while saying it. In yo face, uninteresting person!

As for asking questions...If you have any genuine ones, I don't think the conversation could yet be labeled uninteresting.

Looking forward to more of your letters,
Greg

Re: I quit my first job out of school because I... - kortina's tumblog

The boss will be one of many influences at Bonnaroo this year.

Re: The Fastest Way to Compose Gmail Messages - gCompose Bookmarklet

Excellent work Kortina. 3 birds, 1 stone.
I've been looking for a reason to play around with Ubiquity some more.
I've wanted a faster way to shoot off a gmail.
and wanted to say wassup for myself and Ali, who I saw the other night at George Haye's birthday party.

Re: Giving

So, if we give more, do we have shorter days and nights?

Re: Giving

Thanks Chris. I think it would be difficult to game photo tagging and instant messaging, unless you created a bunch of accounts, chatted with yourself and accepted photo tags from yourself.

They may one day offer probabilities...or even have a identify verification process. Whether or not that's valuable, I don't know.

Re: Facebook knows who you are, and that's worth more than you think

Photo tagging is reliable source of data that Facebook can use to analyze relationships and ultimately helps to verify identity.

Re: kortina's tumblog

i had to check it out, who doesn't want 'Goodies'?

Re: kortina's tumblog

i don't know
i 'feel' like 5/month,

i also 'feel' that ad clicking is most likely when i'm on a niche blog that covers my interests. and i'm rarely 'on a blog' unless i'm using the 'Next' google reader bookmarklet to browse my feeds. have you tried this? it's under Google Reader->Settings->Goodies
