With 7 billion people on this planet its very difficult to find your own voice without someone blaming you for copying what they said. I started to blog a bit about "original thought" here- http://threefourteendesign.... (shameless blog plug). I completely agree that credit needs to be given where credit is due when it comes to jacking someone elses words for personal use, but just because someone had the idea to take a picture similar to yours, or discuss a similar topic using similar words to describe said topic I think "some" degree of leniency should be given. I personally like to research and sometime find other bloggers who have similar ideas and link to their own blog. posts at the end for further reading where its appropriate.

Re: Blog of an Architect

I'm just glad all my RT's finally paid off! I have to agree with a previous comment about the black on black... But I'm a gray kind of guy. Are there ink choices? I would love an architect in gray on gray ;) also like the scale figures one too!

Re: Poll: Should zoning laws allow kids to sell cookies, lemonade, etc in front of their homes?

Just had to turn off the mobile version and it worked great- voted. Be sure to put the back of the tile toward the fabric and glue the edges on the other side with liquid nail. You can use it by itself, frame it in wood, or tile a bunch of them together either with the same fabric or make a pattern. To make a magnetic version- put perforated metal on the front! Tackboards also help soften hard surfaced rooms.

Re: Urinals are dirty

Thats one sexy urinal!

Re: How to name your design firm

What about a mashup of Design firm names and architect bingo?

Re: How to name your design firm

Kate may not like this one when she takes over the family business from the old man as the "son" is much more pronounced. Move it down one and you get a whole different feel bo(RS)on and its now more visually balanced ;)

Re: What to get an Architect for Christmas

Did you get the version they have at IKEA?

Re: What to get an Architect for Christmas

My FLW lego set leaked so I sent it back.

Re: This make my face hurt

Wow.. That is an insanely haphazardly constructed home! To think it HAD to have a permit right? I am sure the permit would tell you the applicant's name as well as maybe the architects so you can pound sense into them with the poo-fist! The biggest question still remains to be answered though... WWVID? In conclusion.. I think the ducttaped hole is for a yet to be installed dryer vent. Just a guess.

Re: The Shade Store – Installing roller shades

Love the post and the kitchen! Not wild about the exposed rollers though. They always look fussy to me, like there should be a box option to conceal it or maybe a flat piece of aluminum stock to match your frame that runs across all of them and overlaps the frame.

Re: Mike Got a Job

That's awesome!
