Not a pretty picture, and 50 nuclear power plants will only make that far, far worse.

Re: The woman powering Japan's nuclear hopes post-Fukushima

I have to agree—it sounds as though she is a PR person designed to make us “feel good about radiation”—we’re supposed to “get with the program” and “restart this green energy initiative”—sorry, I don’t buy it. I would like to see if perhaps she could refocus her efforts on doing what is right and extolling the dangers of this very not-green energy source, and focus all these PR efforts on promoting a solar future for Japan. The spin has spun, and should remain un-wound, and no amount of PR spin will make nuclear energy safe, much in the same way that doubling the amount of concrete will not make any reactor safe. It is an utter lie to say that no-one has died, or been harmed from, the radiation. There is no basis in reality for anyone making such a recommendation of safety.

Re: Happiness and Forgiveness: Let Go of Old Grudges

Nice words, I wonder who wrote this and how they’re putting this into effect in their lives?

Re: The Will Of The People

It is pretty honest. Typical, when your name contains the word “crud” or “bludgeon” or “truncheon” or whatever the f*** you want to name yourselves.

Here’s a hint; if you want to be remembered, do something memorable. Not something stupid.

I think I'll found a website called "inhumanevents.com" just to make fun of how stupid this site, and all you yes-men who just blindly follow whatever the dipwad that wrote this article has to say.

Despite the term “discussion” used at top, you winners are obviously focussed solely on congratulating each other on how your stories match up, and aren’t interested in examining numbers, facts, or metrics for truth.

Long live Fox News, at least until they get put off the air for causing more deaths…

So long! Not going to bother replying to any more of your guys’ dumb drivel, unless you feel like coming back with an *INTELLIGENT* reply, and not more, “hey lookie the fag” comments. Haha. We own businesses. I’d be surprised, based on your ignorance level, if you owned a Yugo, a cat, or even a black and white television set with the knob permanently glued to Glenn Beck’s ugly mug.

In addition, I didn’t even *BEGIN* to address Egypt, as you call it an “enlightened democracy”—which recent events have clearly displayed, it is *NOT*.

Good luck with trying to get out of the trailer park! I’d suggest you go begging to your boss to give you another 10¢ an hour, it takes some muscles to flip them burgers—not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Regarding Sarah Palin—do you not like me mentioning her? I thought you wouldn’t—what a huge embarrassment she must be to your people!

I love how you can bring up “butt buddies” which by rights should immediately canned from a decent system, and at which I should be grossly offended, somehow. However, I bring up Sarah Palin and it makes you really upset.

I guess if I worshiped a piece of cardboard like McCain/Bush/Reagan and thought that Egypt—despite millions protesting against its president—is an enlightened democracy, I guess I’d probably act like you too.

But I don’t.

Re: The Will Of The People

Well, aren’t we Trolly Trolly Trolls here. For example, we’re a successful gay household and despite making more money this year than we ever had, still cannot afford health insurance due to your party’s idiotic meddling of our union.

Dimbulb.

My terms regarding “toolness” counts when you measure the number of dollars given, in public + private amounts, in unprecedented quantities which your “Republicans” have made nearly impossible to trace through your truly “dimbulb” Citizens United ruling.

Fortunately, unlike Health Care, that one’s due for repealing just about any time soon.

Also, our marriage is about to be recognized. So those people who really care what I do with my boyfriend in private when the lights are out and there’s no-one around, can also sit out on that problem too.

Corporate toolness is easy to measure using another easy metric: Amoco and BP give your party 3x more of your campaign contributions than they do the opposing party, that’s another quite valid example, I think anyone’d agree.

Further, let me remark that I’m quite ashamed that any of the Dems accepted any of it. That’s why, however, I’m pretty far left of Dem, tend to vote Green where possible.

Re: The Will Of The People

One measures it by how much one wishes to keep healthcare in the hands of the wealthy, only.

By how one’s party threatens political suicide of the U.S. Government in order to force bailouts which are unwanted by 98% of the human population of the United States.

By how often, despite overwhelming evidence against its success, one tries to lower and lower one’s tax bracket, drastically bankrupting the entire governmental system of the United States.

That’s what I call being a “tool”, or perhaps, in this case, a “Republican”—there is nothing “Republic” about the “Republican” party’s aims at this moment, unless one calls finishing the class warfare one started by killing those who can’t afford to win it through a complete and utter deficit in medicines and necessary, urgent health care.

Stupid, stupid. I’m pretty cynical, but that completely beats the hell out of anything I could come up with!

Really, what we need to do is realize that we do *NOT* live in a civilized “democracy” any more. We quite clearly live in a plutocracy, and with the Republicans’ control of one of the Houses, that is likely to continue because, unfortunately, all the GOP seems to be bent on being corporate tools who—unlike Obama—truly *ARE* secretive, arrogant, and do not respect anyone’s will or judgement other than their own, and believe it is their prerogative to make what they want to happen happen regardless of the message the voters send them. Yes, they’ve had a “bump” due to Bush, but it will not last.

And the will of the people will finally be free, once we completely eviscerate the corruption that is at the heart of the Republican party, and on the fringes of the Democratic party.

Horrible corruption.

Re: PayPal Alternatives – India, World

I’m right there with ya on India—I can’t stand how PayPal treats anyone, least of all India! But Microsoft has clearly “given up” on innovation; labs which were doing amazing work have [almost] all been shut down, and the focus has been redirected back to stability, stability, stability. Which is good for consumers, because they never considered stability or security before. It’s also clear that their *funding* has gone away—so much so that I’m *certain* they’re working on something else; there’s no way that Windows 7 development (computer or “phone”) and the Kinect and 3D labs are draining that much money out of the company.

Re: Digital Archaeology show reveals 'lost' web sites | THINQ.co.uk

Oh god I hope they don't resurrect my 1994 website.

Re: Did Darwin Skip Over Email?

The current approach to email is so dated it's not even funny. Try the REPUBLICAN stance: (1) Maintain tax cuts for the super-wealthy, so we have to pay EXTRA taxes as the not uber-wealthy, (2) Specifically deny a group of citizens their rights (not "protecting" marriage, your guys' divorce rate is doing a great job of destroying that!) and, thereby, promoting teen suicides accross the country during political campaign season, (3) reducing taxes on oil/dirty energy, and slowing our progress away from a life/business style that is harmful to everyone except a few corporations. But when Schatz asked to rebut, he did mention Furlough Fridays, but in a context of: "at the governor's office, we need to look at and take responsibility for education"—which he implied was not being done, but not specifically Lingle/Aiona, although it was obvious the crowd felt that way (!) even with a few cheers from the Aiona side of the room, which we on the Abercrombie side of the room thought was kinda hilarious. Just look at both their campaigns, and while it’s sometimes hard to slog through all the B.S. that gets piled up around political campaigns, it really, really seems that Abercrombie is far more concerned about this particular issue than Aiona is, just my 2¢.

Re: Neil Abercrombie unconditionally agrees to 15 general election debates

Thanks for sharing this statement—it was really bothering me that the Aiona camp is spending all this press trashing you for "not being willing to debate him". I have a friend with a home who's been trying to get assistance with ther loan for nearly three years, when escrow closed on her home and she was laid off the following day. Because the MHA program wasn't available under Bush, she's now left "ineligible" after paying off a professional $3500 in fees to help, and after making four $1800 payments. Bank of America lied to her and told her she was eligible. The day she made her fifth payment, she received a notice that she was ineligible. Now, Bank of America is telling her that she will face a 1099-based tax bill from the Feds if she doesn't pay the difference on a short sale. Bastards! Bank of America should pay through the nose for this treatment of people.

Re: Focus on issues, not the mud - Hawaii Editorials - Staradvertiser.com

I appreciate that Abercrombie is taking the upper hand here by not bothering to respond in kind; his email to refute the Mufi flyer does so quite effectively. In a race like this, it's easy to tell which candidate feels secure in their qualifications (Neil) and which doesn't (Mufi)—if Mufi’s so great, why does he have to try and slam Neil to make himself look better? I used to respect Mufi, but the negativity, the anti-gay rhetoric, and his confused and mumbling speeches have thrown me into Abercrombie’s camp now. For me it was the same as the McCain campaign. A negative promotion has to have truly valid points in order to be effective, and it seems this one had none.
