While vinegar is not a registered disinfectant, clinical research shows that it does indeed kill many pathogens (while not ALL). For common household use, it can be very effective. Check out resources below:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.go...

https://www.bhg.com.au/does...

http://www.abc.net.au/news/...

Thanks for your feedback.

Re: What is Silicone and is it Toxic?

Hey there and thanks for your question. We answer that here --> https://thesoftlanding.com/... but in short, formaldehyde isn't present as is in silicone, but when it is super heated to 600 degrees, it's formed chemically and then releases by off-gassing. When we use silicone, we make sure it's FOOD GRADE only and we use it at normal baking temperatures - never for broiling or stovetop uses.

Re: How to Choose Safe Cleaning Wipes + 9 Brands to Avoid

You're welcome, Soorya! All of the links seem to be referencing one study conducted in 2011, and while it's certainly something to be aware of and investigated further, there's not enough data presented in the abstracts to make a conclusion at this point, so we'll need to take a closer look and dig for more information. It does, however, reinforce our decade-long recommendation of choosing non-solvent extracted organic essential oils to avoid toxic pollutants like pesticides and solvent chemicals that become concentrated during the extraction process. We suspect that the majority of the negative results of the Taiwanese study were caused by contaminants from the extraction process and hazardous chemicals present in non-organic plant materials remaining in the final product.

Re: How to Choose Non-toxic Essential Oil Diffusers

We'd love to look into the evidence-based research for your statement, E. As far as degradation of stainless steel, you'll just want to make sure you monitor any visible scratches or dents. It's quite hard to damage good quality stainless steel, and it will heal itself of tiny scratches by fusing back to itself, but if you end up with large scratches or dents that break the steel or expose aluminum, it's a good idea to stop using that pan.

When we recommend products, we do so by analyzing food-contact materials. We'd never recommend using painted surfaces on the interior of food prep products, but we don't have a problem with paint on the outside of things like glass measuring cups because they don't come into contact with the food. Hope that helps!

Re: They Call Me the SCOBY Whisperer (Plus the BEST Homemade Kombucha Recipe!)

Hi Tammy! You leave them wet in the covered mason jar, and re-moisten with vinegar mix after the cloths have been used in the dryer. You could put twice as many (or more) cloths in your jar and double the vinegar mix since you do so many loads of laundry. And then every 2-3 weeks, you run the cloths themselves through the wash and restart the process.

Re: How and Why to Avoid Toxic PVC (Vinyl) Plastic in Every Day Products

Hi Allie- Doing the best you can to keep the dust at bay in always a good option.
