I'm a huge cricket fan and stumbled across this site this morning for the first time.

I think that your idea of being able to see cricket grounds around the world is amazing (especially for someone like me who does not have the money to travel to watch matches live).

I think that Jademayari has a good point. It's important that everyone is convinced that WiFi is sufficiently secure. At the moment, I don't think people realise that checking your bank balance in your local Starbucks may not be the smartest thing to do.

Wonderful site by the way. I'll certainly be bookmarking and visiting in the future!

Hmm, not in my life time!

Having said that, I understand that there are a number of cricket clubs up around Toronto. Canada does have a national cricket team.

With regard to the US, I think that it would be really hard to dislodge popular sports like baseball and football. I don't think many Americans would have the attention span for a test match :)

I agree, security is down to the user. But the majority of people don't really know how to ensure that their WiFi is secure. I could (if I was so inclined) tap into a number of my neighbours wireless connections.

There was a story about a group of guys here in the US tapping into people's home wifi networks while out for a drive! People such as these that will have their information stolen and then complain about the technology.

Right I better go - I need to check my Wifi encryption! :)

Kumble's contributions have been immense, but I think he's picked the right time to retire. India have to be as ruthless as Australia with regard to team selection. It would not surprise me to hear of more retirements at the end of this series.

I use VMware Fusion when I really have to run PC software on my mac. It does a pretty decent job, but I like to get back to my Mac environment ASAP!

Of course, if your bowlers cannot to bowl to a defensive/attacking field then it doesn't matter how good your fielders are!

What I find fascinating in the modern game is that EVERYBODY on the team has to be a decent fielder. Gone are the days when you could "hide" a poor fielder or one with a bad arm.

Remember, Phil "the Cat" Tufnell?

I love the colours, particularly the rich red and it's contrast with the green.

My mother used to mix paneer with peas. I love the texture of it, especially when it's nicely browned on the outside and lovely and squidgy (is that a word?) on the inside. Combine this with rotis hot off the plate lightly dabbed with ghee.

Yum yum! :)

My concern is that there will be too much interference from television. I am all for referrals to the third umpire for certain aspects. However, television will eventually demand all decisions are referred. This will remove the human element from the game and reduce the umpires to interested bystanders ready to hold a fast bowlers jumper and sunglasses.

You need to make sure that your wireless connection is encoded in some manner. There are a number of different standards, all with varying degrees of robustness.

I certainly wouldn't surf without some form of encryption, just as I wouldn't download stuff without a virus guard and firewall. Having said that, I use a Mac so it's not much of an issue.
