But why, if the word "wog" carries "none of the negative connotations" it does in this country, did the Nine News website decide to change the word to "man" in its story?

Re: New look for KM Extra free newspaper series - Press Gazette

New look but same old poor standards. The front page "splash" of the Medway Extra of May 1 carried a picture of four dignitaries and a caption saying they were "at the buss launch".

Re: Simon Heffer – a much-ignored iconic figure at the Daily Telegraph

Hilary Alexander is clearly hooked on "iconic". She was at it yet again in Wednesday's Telegraph: "The new [Yves Saint Laurent] campaign starring Claudia Schiffer was shot in the iconic Hollywood Hills..."

Re: Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis shocks BBC director-general with “haunted pussy”

Monday lunchtime and now 4,700 views on YouTube. So did I – and the rest of the sixth-formers from my school, including Chris Lowe (a future Pet Shop Boy). From memory, I think the headmaster "sold" us to Mr Forbes for the day, with our fees going to a charity, possibly the Silver Jubilee Fund, or some Royal-linked scheme. We helped bulk out the crowds for the very dull show-jumping scenes, filmed at Charnock Richard, near Blackburn. We were promised a chance to meet Tatum at the end of the day, and we dutifully marched round to her huge caravan, only to be told by a flunky that the star refused to come out because she was embarrased about a spot on her chin. A strange excuse – especially as most of us had more than enough spots of our own.

Re: GQ editor slams Esquire

You need to rewrite that intro Rachel. I hardly think Dylan Jones, editor of GQ, said the relaunch of "GQ was a total failure". Perhaps the relaunch of "Esquire" was a "total failure"?
