Yes, Mike wants a big, long-term contract (and who can blame him!), however, he needs to avoid injury at all costs until he gets it. The Steelers realize this, as does Mike's agent. I don't agree with what he's doing, but, if you put yourself in his situation I'm sure you can understand his angle a little bit.

If Mike goes to training camp and incurs a major injury during full contact workouts, which places him inactive, it's going to cost him significant money. We're talking about tens of MILLIONS of dollars. Yes, after signing his tender he'd still get paid for this season. But, The Steelers aren't going to offer you the same type of contract if you're not healthy in two weeks as opposed to if you are healthy (if anything at all is offered). No one else is going to make you a fair market value offer if you're injured either.

For Mike, injury would be a multi-year setback. Not only do you have to rehab for a year, you also, most likely, have to play another season without the security of a long-term deal. During that season, you have to do really well, again, to be back where you were right now.

Also note, Mike isn't saying anything right now and I don't think there will be issues once he reports to camp.

Re: Camera Advice and Guides

They work great and are pretty affordable.

Re: debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in... - Aaron White

Ahhhh. I would say the smartest guy out there doesn't write code... he tells other people how to do it. However, if he did write code... I would say he would have to re-write whatever program it was because he clearly couldn't debug it. If he couldn't debug it, no one could, if he's the smartest guy.

If those rules apply, I hope I'm never the smartest coder because I need to be able to debug my stuff. In realted news; the universe has officially ended.

Re: debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in... - Aaron White

If you ever write code so smart that you can't debug it, do what I do. Think of a guy who's smarter than you, think of how he would debug it, then do that. Works for me all the time.

Ironically, I was searching for me and found you. I happen to do a little bit of programming so figured I'd chime in quickly with a great suggestion.
