I tried it last night and it definitely felt like a new experience. I can see how it calms you - I liked being able to listen to my breathing patterns and keep focused on that, because I have trouble remembering not to breathe in through my mouth. :)

You make it sound so wonderful! I need to try running without music. I never have before, because the tunes always keep me pumped up, but I'm sure I'd benefit in other ways from silent running. It's worth a shot! Good luck training for your next half marathon... I'm starting my 10k training program right now, now that I have my first 5k under my belt!! :)

Robin sounds just like me - I started running around the same time (late June) and just like her, couldn't run a single minute. I've been running 30 min (about 3 miles) for a few weeks now and I feel like the most powerful person ever! It's a great feeling of accomplishment. And I am totally familiar with that post-2 mile-joy... it's the most incredible thing!

Did you end up booking the W Tuscany? I can't wait to see pics from your adventures... but since I don't have Facebook, I'm not sure how that's gonna happen!!!!

Hope you enjoy that Pinot Noir...... as for myself, I'll be gorging on chocolate caramels.

My fave new mascara is "BADgal lash" by Benefit - you can get it at ULTA or Sephora, but it's right up there with MAC Plush Lash.

We usually go to church on Sunday mornings so the "get up & go" is still there, but we don't go til 11:15. Today, however, is the LA Marathon, so church was moved to Mon night and therefore I slept in like a champ. My cats were all up in the bed and it's pouring rain outside which makes for an especially nice Sunday. So I'm drinking coffee, heating up leftover crab cake benedict from yesterday's brunch, ordering my wedding album, and watching movies/finishing my book. Perfect Sunday!

Finally, I found it!!! And now I'm about to read every post. I agree with most of these awkward moments, however, my initial instinct when Chantal didn't say her ex's name was that she wasn't allowed to. I mean think about it - your ex wife of 10 years goes on The Bachelor, she's bound to bring you up. I wouldn't want her outing me, either! It's probably in his best interest to stay anonymous - you never know what hijinks she'll get into on national television.

This was hilarious, and I really was cracking up. But you are so, so right... consumers have more influence and reach than ever before. It's not just a matter of us telling your friends and family that we had "terrible service at Sears" but it's us telling our ENTIRE social graph, and them telling their friends, etc. Businesses seriously need to watch it. My Mom had a really bad experience with Sears, but was having a tough time getting her issue resolved with customer service, so I recommended she take it to Twitter and Facebook and start complaining. Sure enough... someone contacted her and issue resolved. ;)
