i never liked Ashmore as Bobby Drake or Paquin as Rogue, but you have to give Singer credit for sticking to the original casting from so long ago. it's pretty awesome on that level.

her Emma Frost was absolutely horrid compared to the potential for that character. they need to leave her out of it altogether and then recast if there's another one.

As someone who really enjoyed Raimi's take on Spider-Man (Yes, I'm even an apologist for the first two acts of Spidey 2. Damn Sony getting involved.) I feel like there's a lot for the fanboys to be angry with on this reboot, yet it seems like all signs are pointing that this just might be a decent film.

Frankly, I just hope it's watchable. After the third act of Spidey 3, I'll take anything at this point. I feel like the only real gripe I'll have with it is wondering when Gwen Stacy is going to die. It obviously isn't happening in this one. But the MJ/Gwen triangle played a big part in Peter's early development, leading to her death and his eventual development as 'No One Dies On My Watch' Spider-Man. I just feel like they have to kill her in the next one, you know?

She's an interesting pick for the Maya Hansen character given her resume, but I can see her as the character. I always just thought she would look a little too much like Pepper Potts/Gwyneth Paltrow for the role. Horrible description by Marvel though with the whole 'sexy scientist' thing.

i hope one of them is Runaways. but with a revamped crew. i wasn't really into the idea of having the guy who directed Nick & Norah behind the camera. i know he did Victor Vargas, but still. also, hopefully it'll let Brian K. Vaughan get a rewrite or two on the script.

just the sheer size of Tom Hardy is incredible. he's a short dude IRL so i wonder what movie magic they'll pull to make him taller/bigger than Batman. its a great teaser, and you know the full trailer will be even more awesome.

i completely agree with the statement of rebooting the franchise will definitely be almost near-impossible to reboot. however, there are alot of unknown girls out there who could be perfect for the role. also with a good script and a talented director, starting from Lara Croft's origins can make it (as cliche as this is to say) a Batman Begins mold. where if they budget $100-150 in, make about $300-400 back, they'll be comfortable enough for a franchise. i've got hope for this. GK Films seem to know what they're doing in quality over quantity lately (with the exception of The Tourist, of course) when producing their 3-4 films a year.
