It puts Myanmar on a higher level than Thailand- absolutely not! I've been in Myanmar for almost two months now and its much cheaper. The only exception is if you're looking at rent in Yangon where there's currently a housing crisis.

Something else to consider if you're a digital nomad thinking about moving- how fast is the country's internet infrastructure? That would be one of the biggest reasons I'm not moving to Myanmar right now- they're just not set up for internet in a lot of places. It's been interesting to see how internet speeds vary in different countries as I've traveled. It would be interesting to see if anyone has made an infographic of that!

I met a young lady in Tulkarm, West Bank, Palestine who I'm trying to convince to get into fixing. We met through Facebook and I ended up staying with her family while she showed me around. Her English was perfect and she wasn't afraid to call up anyone. One of the people I got to meet through her was the first female bus driver in the West Bank!

And like I said, for all of the Muslims that I spoke with, it wasn't a religious conflict, it was about their rights to live as humans.

I disagree with the last statement. All of the Palestinians that I spoke to (Muslims and Christians alike; during the two months I lived in the West Bank) told me that they would have no problem living alongside Jews in the region, so long as justice is served. Their problem is with the way that they have been treated- driven from their homes, forced to live under an apartheid society... For them, its not religious, its merely about human rights.

I recently bought Nick Onken's Photo Trekking. Its not available in e-Book form but is actually very cheap on Amazon. So I didn't really read this all the way through because I didn't want to bring up my feelings at the moment (I'll probably come back and read it again later when I feel like thinking, ha). But I started to resonate with a few things so I thought I would comment. I definitely have experience with trying to make light of my situation and other people trying to dictate that. I often times joke that I was in a cult. I'm always careful where and when I say that though. But I said it around one of my "good" friends (not really good, but long-time) who immediately was like, "oh come, you were not in a cult" in front of a bunch of people! It was one of those things that just ruins your life. I had to talk to her the next day and tell her that, as absurd as it seemed, that comment really hurt me because I'm trying to heal from something traumatic. I still struggle with to what extent I should mock my experience though because I still have great respect for many of the people I met there... Thats all my thoughts for now ;]

I'm glad that you say <“You just don’t have enough faith to receive your healing” (Lazarus didn’t have any…) > is not the case. But you failed to mention why healing does not always happen.

If it is God's will to heal all and someone is not healed then does that mean that the person attempting to bring healing is the one that does not have enough faith??

I have a friend from Nigeria who explained really well that most of the violence-makers aren't actually church-goers, they are just unhappy with their political problems and identify with their religion when they act out of anger.
Now I'll go read the article after I said this.... haha
