Let’s see. You are unemployed and angry at people who allegedly make 200k a year that you are paying for. I can see why you would be so upset. Of course a number of posters on here have challenged you to put your money where your mouth is but to date you have done nothing. That's why WE are upset.

Perhaps Dr. Crimefighter PhD (www.getadegreelikesurfpuppy...) can help. First of all, stop using your lunatic math and use some real numbers. Then, follow through and pin on a reserve officer badge and show everyone how the job is done.

Of course we already know you can’t but the entertainment value would be incredible to see you try. And please, before you start up with claims that you can’t get hired because you aren’t related to anyone on the department, remember, I have already offered to vouch that you are my inbred cousin from the Appalachia’s.

As a general rule cops don’t lie and they don’t cheat the system. Are there occasional bad ones out there? Yes, and they are dealt with and rightfully so.

I know that may seem hard to comprehend to someone who can only see things in black and white but trust me; to people with a triple digit IQ it makes perfect sense.

Oh I can I take it. I was just stating a fact. In reality, I should thank you. If everyone was respectful and well behaved cops would be unemployed. So in truth, you are job security. And the more rabid you get about it, the funnier it is.

I didn’t know Mike was running his own law firm now. I sure hope he takes his money up front as opposed to contingent on victory. If he goes that route I give him about 30 days before he starves to death.

As far as bankruptcy goes, we all know your opinion on it by now. You are the type to make obligations and then break them when they seem expensive. But here is a word of advice. BK has consequences. This is a terrible tragedy and a stark reminder of the dangers faced by cop’s everyday. My prayers are to the officer’s families and to the poor officer fighting for his life.

Let’s also hope that bottom feeding idiots like Surfpuppy muster up enough class to refrain from his typical overpaid welfare queen – police work isn’t dangerous rant on this story.

As usual you made several points and as usual they are nonsensical.

1. All pension increases were approved in open sessions of the city council. There were reaffirmed by a public reading of a salary ordinance. Agendas of which are posted online before each meeting.

2. Other than you and Mike Aguirre, no one else has agreed the pensions are illegal. Certainly no court has.

3. A Cadillac is an average GM product.

4. Gold plating is the cheapest way to dress up jewelry.

So before you start resorting to tired cliques to make your point, perhaps you should pull out some reference material before hand so you at least sound like you know what you are talking about.

By the way, on this site today we had a story of four cops murdered in Oakland. Did you comment or offer sympathies? NO.

Did you congratulate the SDPD for stopping a double murderer before he could kill anyone else? NO.

Do you ever have anything positive to say about a cop of a fireman? NO.

And then you sit back and wonder why people call you an anti police troll? But that’s ok, if everyone liked the police, I would have had to find work in another field.

The bottom line is this: despite your best efforts to deny it or laugh if off, you obviously have jealousy issues over what some people make and what you think you are worth. You must be a riot to watch at a professional sporting event.

The Tijuana Police Department is a graphic example of you get what you pay for. Want something in the US? Consider the New Orleans PD was once the most corrupt PD in the US. Ironically, it was also the lowest paid. After ushering in 25% raises, the levels of corruption have declined significantly.

I have offered you a way to correct that for more than two years. Become a full time reserve cop and recruit some of your like minded ilk to do the same. After awhile PD's won't need to pay anyone, you will be doing it for free.

Well then based on that consider this - San Diego has one of the smallest police forces per capita in the US. The city also has one of the lowest crime rates for a major city in the US. What does that say? Should that translate into one of the highest paid? Apparently not if you go by the commentary here.

Annually (when compared to other American police agencies) SDPD has some of the lowest amounts paid out to settle excessive force lawsuits.

Do these two fact mean they are perfect? No, but if that's your indicator, then it’s pretty darn good.

As far as police work not being dangerous, the stats you posted are for people actually killed. Can you name any other profession where you would be expected to go into an active shooter scene? Using your criteria that would mean as long as you don’t get killed then its not dangerous right?

When you make your claim, how do you reconcile the fact many cops are shot but don’t die because they are saved by their body armor? Does that also not count?

Sickpuppy is full of it and you are not the first person to challenge him on it. But here is essentially what he does to get the numbers he claims.

If you own a home pull out your loan documents. See where it says purchase price? For the sake of this lesson, let’s say that number is $450,000. Let’s also say your interest rate is 7.0% fixed for a 30 year loan with zero down. That makes your monthly payment approximately 2993.00 per month.

Now move over to the pay off amount at the bottom of the form. This is where you see how much you will have paid if you make 360 equal payments over the life of the loan. The number should be $1,077,480. Not only has home has immediately more than doubled in value before you make the first payment, you are now a millionaire.

Sickpuppy basically makes the assumption that everyone will work a full 30 years to reach the 3%@50 rule. That simply isn’t the case. Some people retire at less – some don’t even reach retirement at all due to death, resignation, termination, etc.

Next, sickpuppy assumes everyone will live another 30 plus years to collect that 90%. Now using those assumptions, what he does is takes both of those numbers, adjusts for inflation and then combines them into the here and now.

What's funny is that if he did his own finances the way he does his math on here, he would be doing time for fraud.

All public pensions are formulated on the base salary, not add ons.

Are you also suggesting that police and fire pensions to also include family health coverage? The military does that now. Under the best case scenario, only the pensioner is covered for police and FF’s.

Here’s another difference. If someone went into the military at 17, they could retire at 50% at the age of 37. There’s no way a cop or firefighter could do either. The earliest they could retire would be at age 50.
