Not tournament wise, just having fun. I spent $500 on a dark Eldar list, buying the models I thought were cool and barely ever made it out of turn 2. Just not my kind of game anymore. GW has broken 40k imho, and not just with their abusive pricing strategy and business model. It's everything. Not bashing, just sharing my feelings on the company and what they've done to my beloved universe.

Re: GW Deep Thought - We Are All Ferrari Collectors Now | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

I will continue to explore new game systems. But at the prices this hobby commands anymore, I'll be watching for smaller mom and pop shops. I just can't justify $500+ for a new GW army. And I DO like to switch up my armies because I get bored playing the same three tactics inherent to almost every 40k faction, if I want to be even moderately competitive. Good luck to GW, they've built a cool world. But it's time for me to visit other universes, and I like what I've seen so far. They may get me back one day. Maybe if 7th edition doesn't suck like 6th.

Re: GW Deep Thought - We Are All Ferrari Collectors Now | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

No, you can't play 40k unless you buy the new rapetastic hotness. That is how they design the game now. My 5 year old marine army can't	do squat against new Necron and Tau armies. Not bashing, I just dont like how GW operates. Just like i dont shop at wal-mart. And i sold all the GW stuff and bought an entire Infinity army with 5%	of what i sold that stuff for.

Re: GW Deep Thought - We Are All Ferrari Collectors Now | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

I sold my Ferrari ealier this year. I'm now driving a Volvo (Infinity from Corvus Belli) and Chevy (Mantic games).

I'm all but done with GW. I may rent the Ferrari on a rare weekend bender/binge, but I will no longer pay that car note.

How people can't see their new $23 Space Marine Failcast model as being grossly and unacceptably overpriced is beyond me.

I just don't get it. No more.
Hello skirmish games and other innovative fun systems. GW would be smart to re-launch their Specialist Games line.

Re: LEGALWATCH: Games Workshop vs Chapterhouse Verdict | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

Regardless, I'm going to buy a 3-D printer and go into the business of making GW compatible bits if I can use some of the same language that CHS did and got away with it. Easy money!

Re: LEGALWATCH: Games Workshop vs Chapterhouse Trial So Far | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

Well said and I respect your opinion. However, when I buy a Chevy, I don't have to buy Chevy repair parts. There are always AFTERMARKET parts that are advertised as being compatible with my Chevy. The manufacturers of these parts don't need licenses. Kind of like how CHS advertises compatibility and shouldn't need a license to do so. Also, kind of like other miniatures companies that make just models and claim general compatability with other game systems.
I dunno, CHS seems to be in the win column with me and the lose column with you :)

Re: LEGALWATCH: Games Workshop vs Chapterhouse Trial So Far | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

GW should not produce overpriced and mediocre quality product then try to gouge us with ridiculous prices. I'm glad we have options like CHS. GW doesn't OWN sci-fi, sorry. Honestly, don't really care. I play Infinity and Mantic now. GO CHS!!

Re: Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

Infinity and Dreadball are the only games I'm playing right now. Both games are developing an amazing following at our LGS. GW has soured me, possibly forever.

Re: LEGALWATCH: Games Workshop vs Chapterhouse Trial So Far | Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls

HA! Same here. Sold all three of my 40k armies on eBay last month after learning of a $115 auto-include Eldar model. Took $150 of the $2k+ sale and bought a Nomad army that will last me a long time.
I'm pretty much done with you, GW. I soooo hope that CHS wins this case. Please, please, please...

Re: Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Wargames & Miniatures News: Bell of Lost Souls: 40k Video: New White Dwarf w/ Sixth Edition Preview

Can't wait for July 30th.

Re: Bombay Beach

Looks intriguing; keep up the good work!

Re: clarkblog - this is the tour diary of a Toadies/Willowz tour...

great tour this year, glad you thought so too! saw the detroit show and coming to see you at slim's in ca. first anniversary for the wife and i, 10 years of being best friends.
