Julia, get it away from her. Maggie the Cat did this obsessively until we discovered that Snuggies are coated in chemical fabric finishers that keep the synthetics soft. It's really bad for pets (and humans!).

But do you honestly think Obama "caved in"? You really think Glenn Beck has the power to make President Obama cave? Wow.

Again, give the man some credit. He didn't want Van's noise. Period. He's not going to bat for him anymore, and neither should you. He will find someone better.

Really? It was the Republican Party that passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which ended segregation. The Democratic Party fought it tooth and nail. If your statement was true, do you really think Martin Luther King would have been a Republican?

God, no. I'm 110% serious. If your job has anything to do with patients, no matter have far removed, your empathy reaches them in one way or another. You do the best you can, despite the circumstances, and it reaches them.

Your manager deserves a first class ticket to h*ll.

I'd like to fix it, too. The government has no place in health care, though. Medicaid is a disaster. If they could fix that then maybe I would reconsider their ability to do this. Small and large businesses can't afford this, and those who have private coverage can't afford to have their healthcare company go out of business. It's one big clusterfuck.

Under Obama's plan, my terminally ill mother would be denied her chemo and radiation that has allowed her to extend her life and be pain free, because her cancer is incurable stage 4. His plan would reject care for terminally ill patients, and would only offer them pain management. This is fact. That's just inhumane.

He won't tell you what and who it's going to cost. He needs to do that. I read the details of his plan. You should too. I paid $207. a month out of pocket for private health insurance that offered full coverage (including radiation treatments). Look at what your employer pays to cover you, and add your contribution, so you know what it costs both of you each month. That number will go up because the gov't will be taxing your employer 8%. Your employer will have to make a choice on what to cut (health insurance, staff, overhead, etc. etc. in an already downed economy).

I guess my issue is that there needs to be some regulation when it comes to fertility treatments, gender reassignment surgeries, plastic surgeries...many of the more extreme types of surgeries are performed due to a psychological issue, or some emotional damage or loss the patient is suffering from. The blogger is right, in that we can't ask doctors to do anything other than what they are trained to do. There needs to be some reasonable regulation so that the doctors and taxpayers are not liable for the outcome.
