Agree that the victim should press charges in these cases but unfortunately you get into really weird legal territory if you allow prosecution if the victim isn't willing to come forward.

I read the article but don't really have an opinion on it. She had a change of heart and is now anti-abortion in her views. That's about the size of it, right ?

Economics are not as much of a factor as bringing children into the world who will be loved and cared for and who therefore have less of a chance of being psychos and assbags to other people. I know that conservatives like to pretend that teens won't have sex if you learn 'em right... but guess what, they will? A lot. All the time. That's what teens do. Condoms prevent disease spreading and pregnancy. It's a good thing, and a good investment.

You can look at it that way. Or you can look at it from the humanistic standpoint of trying as hard as we can to not bring unwanted children into this world. Let's bring in the children that will be loved and cared for and provided for... and prevent as many neglected, abused, damaged kids who will grow up to burden society at best and plague fellow humans at worst.
