I love Neglect and I just made a movie that uses "Fuck Life" and I'd love to talk to him about getting permission to use the song in the movie! If you knew anyway to get in touch that would be super helpful!

Re: Screenwriting 101 Vol. 1 of 2

As much as I think scripts are important, many filmmakers have made wonderful films without the use of any scripts (Godard and Wong Kar-wai come to mind). Godard was a critic for a long time before making Breathless and was immersed in the conventions of Hollywood to flip all those conventions on its head. There was no formal script, just the treatment by Truffaut, which he only loosely followed. Wong Kar-wai worked as a screenwriter before making his first film. Their knowledge of cinema and writing gave them the tools to work scriptless. Just curious what your thoughts are in these specific cases.

Re: http://builtonaweakspot.com/post/23123539523

great record, great dudes

Re: mOck (Berlin, Germany)

Awesome band!

Re: VOTD: A Shot-By-Shot Analysis of The Chase Sequence from ‘The Dark Knight’ | /Film

Walter Murch, in interviews with Michael Ontadje, has said that action and passionate love making scenes benefit from non-continuity editing. Crossing the axis and line of action creates a desirable feeling of disorientation that plays into the story. Everything is solidly written and, although the okay songs are just okay, the good songs are really effin good.

Upon first listen, only a few tracks really grabbed me: the Silver Apples-influenced "Ruins" (which I think is one of the best songs they've written), "Waterwheel," "Moonless March," and "Searchlight." So basically, the rockers. After a few more listens, I found the more subdued tracks to get stuck in my head. From the motorik-driven "Cold Storage" to the tender "White Wind," songs I would've thought were better suited for Aloha's Light Works EP, end up warranting multiple listens.

Re: Samoa cookies

i needs me some of these

Re: COME TOGETHER

Jesu? However, for some reason, I just can't get down with Isn't Anything. A few songs are alright, but I can never listen to that album the whole way through. I think it's the drummer that kills it for me (good thing they used programmed drums for Loveless).

On that note though, "You Made Me Realise" is one of their fantastic old ones that rivals their work on Loveless.

Re: Synaptic Burble Baubles & Infinite Ammo

haha, that progression is fantastic. Though I think they are decent, they are essentially guilty of the same thing as Fucked Up and No Age, but emo. Kids will have no problem going ga-ga for Japandroids, but probably wouldn't bother to seek out a Braid record, a clear influence of that band.

Re: Aziz is Bored

dude, dope suit! where'd ya get it?

Re: First Store Pics from Save Fashion...It's Almost Show Time! - Fashion News at Refinery29.com

where exactly in the port authority is this place going to be?!?!2nd floor, ground floor, next to what, etc?

Re: Panic Attack

good article man. i sometimes get them at work when i feel overwhelmed. the list making totally helps. i actually got one yesterday (pretty bad too) when i found out that the traffic ticket i got is worth 2 points.

also, Batman didn't totally suck when it went to WB! But they did want to reach a bigger demographic and made it a little bit more kid friendly. What's funny is that Fox had all these crazy restrictions with what they were allowed to get away with and WB was way more lenient.

actually, one of my fav episodes of the show is when it was on WB. it was the Scarecrow episode where Barbara Gordon dies and Commisioner Gordon hunts down Batman.
