Not sure if you know the story behind the name, but Kermit the Hop was a nod to the organic beer segment in the industry. "It ain't easy being green"..... but we make it look easy! Nothing beats a fresh Pilsner....but nothing sucks more than a light-struck, old Pilsner.

I'm a huge fan of Weihenstephaner Pilsner. Victory Prima Pils and Oskar Blues Mama's Lil Yellow Pils are also great U.S. brewed versions.

Re: LADIES BE CONFUSED BY BEER: Please Stop Trying To Identify What A Person Will Drink Based On Their Genitals

Weinhenstephan is probably the most renowned and easy to find Weissbier. I absolutely love this post. As a chick that knows more about beer than 97.5% of the men I've ever met (including my brewmaster boss--he can kick my ass on the engineering of brewing, but I got him on everything else), I found the Women's Forum video/post to be both offensive and humorous. Offensive because I can't believe that women are still forced to defend our awesomeness and equality in the world. Humorous because the article sucked so bad and the people in the video sucked even more. The so-called beer expert was obviously not an expert. He was probably just a random bartender they found to play the part (I'm not a beer expert, but I play one on TV). And the chick was just as dumb as all get out. And since Pandora's stereotype box has already been opened, I'm going to venture a guess that the chick in the video drinks neon green apple "martinis" and cosmos most days of the week. Okay, enough ranting. Time for me to go back to my big girl job working for a brewery :) Great work!

Re: Show and Tell - Jonathan Shikes - Ignite Denver will offer lightning in a bottle during the Great American Beer Festival

Hahahahaha... did I just get labeled as a "celebrity blogger" -- too kind, too kind. As both a female beer drinker and a female in the craft beer industry, I definitely have my opinions about the sexist marketing campaigns designed by mega-corporations that produce disgusting, water-like yellow fizzy adjunct beers. In fact, I wrote about it on my blog:

Don’t Support the Objectification of Women: Drink Craft Beer
http://drinkwiththewench.co...

BEER WARS: The Female Edition
http://drinkwiththewench.co...

Great points! For me, New York is like the family you are born into -- you love it unconditionally because it's in your blood, but there are always parts of it that you are either ashamed of or don't want to be associated with.

And although some of us love our families to death, we cannot always prevent our environments from significantly impacting our personalities, our emotions, and our behaviors. . Ashley is New York is far different than Ashley in California. New York, much like my family, turns me into an obsessive compulsive, success driven, headcase.

But then thing about New York is, no matter what, it's still in my blood. It is part of my genetics. I can never really leave it...

Re: WineFoot and Mutineer – dinner time

Looks like it was a rockin' time! I'm so into local. I almost always drink local, even if there is a "better option" on tap ... I still gotta support the local economy. It's a principle thing. And, the more local a project is, the more likely I am to support and respect it. Farm to table. Farm to brewery. I dig it.

I also love the collaboration bandwagon, and I've even jumped on it (big beer coming out at GABF). I plan on doing more with more breweries around the country in the future, stay tuned...

I suppose instead of asking brewers to do something, I'd really want them to STOP doing something. Stop trying to create an exclusive club -- you know, the pretentious beer geek club that intimidates normal people from wanting to get involved in craft beer. Stop putting your most amazing beers in the hands of the privileged few. This is not France. There is not such thing as the AOC. Stop trying to be Chateau Latour and sell your product for a ridiculous markup just because you can. Craft beverage is not meant to be only for the few and the privileged -- its meant to be for the masses. If you REALLY want to be a craft beer revolutionary, you would make beer for the PEOPLE and not just your small elitist community.

Wow.

I really need a break, or a social life, or xanax.

Re: 4 Beer Companies with Social Media On Tap

Wow. Where does one even being to weigh in on this conversation?

What is the real value that the these beer companies bring to their audiences on the various social media platforms? Are they really engaging their consumers? Are they have conversations? Or are they just entertaining their consumers with flashy videos, games, and other tools.

I don't think a company's success on social media should be measure by number of followers on twitter of friends on facebook -- but by how well they use those tools to connect with their networks.

I'm sick and tired of companies talking at me, pushing links and products on me, and not caring about what I want or what I think or even trying to engage me. I don't want to play games. Have a conversation with me.

New Belgium is the only brand on the list that I have respect for in the social media realm (and in general).

Re: First Belching Monkey then GaryVee

woot!

Re: http://www.hoptopia.com/reviews/199

This sounds killer! Why not try to step outside the box...

So then I thought AH HA -- Gewurztraminer ... why? Because it is one of my favorite white varietals that oddly pairs well with many a cuisine ... and holds up to a bit of spice (such as mustard). So yes. And Alsace Gewurtz is my pick.

Re: Guest Post: What is a Beer Bloggers Conference Anyway?

This is going to be EPIC! I cannot wait to meet all of the awesome bloggers from the beer community. I am lucky enough to have attended two wine bloggers conferences, both of which were extremely unique, very educational, and tremendously fun experiences. I go back and forth between the Russian River Blind Pig (which is harder to find, but some may argue that it is a more delicious beer) and Pliny. But, in general, my rule of thumb when it comes to "every day" swill is drink local. I prefer to drink beer as close to its source as possible. This ensures freshness, proper storage and serving, and is good for the environment (low carbon footprint FTW!)

My favorite Summer beer styles = IPAS, PILSNERS, BERLIINER WEISS, LAMBICS, WITS

Great show. As a beer evangelist, I was really into it. Next up ... beer and pork product pairing. I can see it now...

Re: Craft Beer Tasting

I am not sure the beer world could handle an equivalent of Gary Vee :) Just like the wine world might not be able to handle its own equivalent of the beer wench.
